Hey people. I'm the Twitch moderator who made the guide for Woolie regarding Cyberpunk 2077, so he could get an idea of what the game is, and follow to make sure that it could fit to be an LP for the channel. I have recommended him to do ALMOST every Side gig there are in the game, but told him that he could ignore NCPD Scanners and Fixer Gigs (Except Mr. Hands Fixer gigs in Phantom Liberty), as they would add a lot of more time to the playthrough time (Which is why he reacted the way he did with the pop up about those). I know there are some good Fixer gig missions, but they are unfortunately locked behind completing other fixer gigs to get to them, and they would take a lot of screen time and aren't that interesting, just to get to the good stuff. Sometimes ya gotta do a little sacrifice so the LP can run more smooth. Hope this clears up some confusion about it.

A good compromise, it'd really be a disservice to the game and himself to avoid some of the best content in the game. Some concessions have to be made certainly but it's also not good to seemingly be paranoid about things going for too long, we sat through him reading all the codexes in Mass Effect and scraping Elden Ring, we'll sit through the gigs too.

Fun fact about Cyberpunk the Tabletop: Cyberpsychosis was treatable, technically, in that you could have Humanity points restored by months or years of expensive therapy. But in practical terms, that'd mean the same "roll a new character" as hitting zero humanity, so why bother?

The response to at least dip their toes into side content, even NCPD side hustles has been pretty overwhelming. And he mentioned having an intimidating list of stuff that came recommended from a friend at the start. I do worry that friend might have told him to ignore all NCPD scanners when they are one of the better ways to try out new weapons/builds when you get them.

There's actually a theory that cyberpsychosis isn't even a real phenomenon, but actually a catch-all excuse for people breaking under the pressure of the dark future's various mistreatments. The anime somewhat conteadicts this theory, however I much prefer it as an explanation.

The game telling woolie that scanning "gives you extra info" is the worst thing that could have happened to this let's play. It gives you basic enemy info and let's you quick hack. For the most part, that's all it does. He doesn't need to go into scan mode every 3 seconds during every conversation.

Gotta join my voice to all of the others - please consider some of the side content! Hit some stuff on the way to your main quests. The gigs and sidequests are more curated than a typical cookie-cutter Ubisoft side activity.

I've seen a lot of people say "the main story quest sucks" and I just have to wonder what they consider to be the "main story." If they beeline to the credits as quickly as possible then yeah, it's gonna seem like it sucks when you don't bother to try and get to know the world or any of the characters in the game. It's like playing Mass Effect 2 and never talking to your companions or doing loyalty quests because "technically" you don't have to do them.

In this instance, it's not that the corp is paying the gangs. The briefing started off by straight up telling you the gang stole from the corp. Why must Woolie be so confidently and vocally wrong, we started off so we'll by admitting the couch knows nothing about the setting.

Like how they used to label the mentally ill as crackheads when what you're looking at when what youre looking at is a confluence of symptoms and illnesses rooted from the addiction. I also like the little Archers because they give me AE86 vibes, but other than the Bandit and Wraith Sidewinder in my garage, I prefer my Nexus Mod cars. Not that it really matters, but if you're talking to someone scanning them's not ever really going to get you out of trouble. Unless you quick hack them, and it will be treated as if you started blasting. It's not like Deus Ex with the Alpha, Beta, Sigma speech hacking. They aren't going to let you, like hack a drone or pipe to fall on some. If you're in a talking part, it's a talking part. Unless they give you the V I O L E N C E option. But even then, you just pull out the ol' glocker spaniel, and do a normal fight. The only reason I bring it up is cause you seem overwhelmed in parts. So in talking parts it's best to just focus on the talking. No harm in it, just makes the dialog harder to hear.

If they’re worried about the length of the LP which is why Woolie doesn’t want to do the side gigs. From someone who has beat this game at least 5 times, doing all the side gigs, scanner hustles, side jobs, cyberpsycho, main story and the phantom liberty dlc, it can take you 60-80 hours.

In lore corpo V was scouted as a street kid to join counter intel, so them rolling back to the old way of talking is not strange. Also, whenever you get the corpo option in dialogues, they can use some "elegant" vocabulary.

@@ZeffoOkuda Their butt. V only lives at Mama Welles' place sometime between the lifepath prologues and the Act 1 opening mission to rescue Sandra Dorsett. Corpo V grew up in Charter Hill, Westbrook, as revealed in conversations with both River and Takemura. V was bailed out of a mission gone bad in Mexico when Jackie showed up as a good Samaritan, which is how the two became friends. This does mean Corpo V has known Jackie longest out of the lifepaths, since the other two don't meet him prior to their respective prologues, irrc. My main source is the wiki (which cites relevant quests), but any lets play with a corpo V choosing the right dialogues with Takemura (in the surveillance scene on the skyscraper when Takemura reveals he grew up in the slums) or Following the River will verify the wiki. Posting links kept stopping my post from going through, sorry.

@@ZeffoOkuda Corpo V was raised by a corpo family in Charter Hill, Westbrook. They reveal this when talking to River in Follow the River and also in response to Takemura sharing his own past in the slums. Corpo V was saved by Jackie in Mexico which is how the two know each other. Anything else these people are talking about is headcanon - wiki says Charter Hill and links to the quests I cited above. EDIT: Corpo V growing up in Charter Hill rich enough to eat *real fish* is also brought up by Corpo V during the dive scene with Judy. EDIT 2: Some of Jackie's dialogue, such as "you sold your soul to those Arasaka fuckers," seems to imply Corpo V and Jackie might have known each other longer, but Mexico is the first time the game textually establishes them having met. And any hypothetical prior history before that still has to contend with Corpo V explicitly having been born into a fairly well-off family in Westbrook.

The point to point fast travel was the worst thing about it by the time I played. I could accept it, if it were just a gameplay thing, but they have it be self driving cars. And they show you that the self driving cars can target and find you basically anywhere. So why can't they self drive to a point I put on the map?

I absolutely love the Maelstrom bot pickup mission from this game. Sometimes I would just boot up a new save of Cyberpunk 2077 just to go through that mission in a new way. There's so many permutations to it I'm honestly surprised they were able to squeeze all that into this complex of a game. Just to list a few ways this mission could go: - Talk to Stout and get the chip but don't remove the virus. It doesn't go well with Maelstrom but Stout is satisfied, leading to a whole another story line with Meredith down in Act 2. - Talk to Stout and get the chip, remove the virus or notify Maelstrom about it - Gilchrist takes over, Stout is properly screwed and there's no continuation to her story. - Don't talk to Stout at all and pay for the bot with your own money. Just walk out, no fight with Maelstrom at all. - Don't talk to Stout and don't pay for the bot, fight Maelstrom and in the process save Brick and reinstate the slightly more reasonable (but still equally psycho) head of the gang in the process. - You can also get killed by Royce via cutscene but that doesn't really lead you anywhere. And on top of that there's still several smaller things that change depending on whether you're Corpo, Nomad or Streetkid. Man what a game.

Obviously I don't know Woolie and I'm saying this as someone familiar with this open world RPGs but he seems to have a weirdly high level of trepidation going into this game/genre about the length of things like we haven't sat through 260ish episodes of Mass Effect and Elden Ring or him literally reading us a book with A Sacred and Terrible Air :V Just gotta relax and immerse before his mars his opinion on the game.

Sinnerman and the Peralez questline are definitely my recommended highlights outside of the character quests.
