Join astrologers Richard Tarnas and Rachel Lang with TNS host Michael Lerner as they explore how an understanding of the great archetypal symbols of astrology can influence and illuminate how we live our lives.
Rick's seminal book Cosmos and Psyche will serve as a reference for the conversation.

He teaches courses in the history of ideas, archetypal cosmology, depth psychology, and religious evolution. His second book, Cosmos and Psyche, received the Book of the Year Prize from the Scientific and Medical Network, and is the basis for the ten-part documentary series The Changing of the Gods. He is also the co-editor of Psyche Unbound: Essays in Honor of Stanislav Grof. We are to progress and liberate ourselves to consciously shed the physical (the elemental), and the causal, or the idea body. We are not destined to be embedded with A.I., no matter what the atheistic perspective is currently. We are to liberate ourselves from the influence of the planets to fully realize consciousness. We are to progress to be angelic, shedding our outer bodies and, if desired, melding ourselves with the whole which is Cosmic Consciousness. All nature looks to us as the apex to which it aspires, first to human embodiment, and eventually to freedom from all embodiments.

Buddy, we've progressed from analogy to analysis hundreds of years ago, there's no going back, sorry.

"progressed" doesn't mean negating what came before. It's also keen to be open, rather than closed, when exploring ancient arts like this one. Great combo. Timeless video

@@kemocity Agreed, keep what's functionally sound from the past, even the unfunctional beauty of the past, don't leave those riches behind. We still live day to day by "analogy", but it is no longer enough. Our senses have been transcended by math and science.

@@nuqwestr No. I meant by "keeping what was in the past, in the past" etc. would be to, bu default withhold what can be built upon that past. What you're suggesting would be a disservice and may have prevented the great exploration made, and that continued to be made by pioneers like Rick Tarnas. Why negate. Integrate. Science/Psyche, Consciousness are about inclusion, not seclusion.
