thank you Rick for this rendition. Always one of my favorite songs by Styx. Good job putting it together.

It should be a federal law that you cannot listen to "Suite Madame Blue" without hearing "Prelude 12" immediately before it. Always loved how a 12-string guitar shimmers...So dreamy!! RIP John Curulewski (October 3, 1950 - February 13, 1988)

When you dive into all of Styx's classic albums and finally listen to them all the way through, you realize what a one-in-a billion talent Dennis DeYoung is. Phenomenal songwriter, singer, frontman, pianist, organist, synthesist. I'd pay anything to have him show me how he worked those Oberheims...Truly an irreplaceable element of the Styx sound!!

Agreed, I think Lawrence Gowan is good, but it was Dennis De Young who created these masterpieces!

Rick, Thank you SO much for making and sharing this AMAZING, creative video with the world! Styx toured last year at some Venue's i believe? There are a lot of Y tube vids showing this. But back in the 'Hair Band Rock Rulers time' aka, 'the day' they too, rocked their MANY Anthems all over the world! NEVER ONCE saw them as just 'Pop' singers, aka (popular musicians) they were SO much more than that. Extremely talented Lyricists; Singers, Drum, Bass, and Keyboard Legends. Their voices even still, both powerful, strong and real. I also wanted to Thank you, because in a Watty book i am making, the main character wakes up 150 later in 2014; and i was looking for 'just the right song' to capture the essence of that very moment. Especially how it would feel; to have spent all that TIME trapped behind a looking glass; only to awake so far into the Future.

There's also another great song similar to this called "Black Wall". It was Written and Recorded By Dennis DeYoung, the former Frontman, Founder, Mastermind and Primary Songwriter of Styx. It's Also about the Vietnam War, The Wall of Names in Washington DC of all the Fallen Soldiers that Gave Their Lives in the War. It's a VERY Moving Song.🖤❤️

WOW, I LOVE IT, SO COOL‼️‼️😎😎😎😎❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙💙 For Anyone that Doesn't know the Background of this Song, What it was Written about, it was Written Back in the mid 1970s about the State of things in America, Mostly The Vietnam War, But Certainly President Nixon and ALL His and That Madness.

Another profound song from Styx. Suite Madame Blue got heavy airplay on the FM dial in Boston. Sadly this song is more relevant in 2024.

RIP John Curelewski! You died way too young. These two songs are gems! A&M records didn’t give you guys a fair shake in 1975. These two songs could have been made as singles. Very deep lyrics. Peter Frampton’s album got a lot more airplay (greed, capitalism) which wasn’t fair. 💕

@@RickNeedham Thank you! I wish some of my playlists were in better order, but it reflects many years of re-building it after my first channel disappeared. We have a branch of the University of South Carolina here, and their Science Center is a great place I go to view all of the interesting things in the planetary beyond, as they occur, which is fun! I see you are from New York. My mom was born in Buffalo, not sure if it's close to you, but I'm the last survivor of my birth family. Can get quite lonely at times! Thanks for the sub, I used to have a G+ account and had many friends all over the world !

If this is what Dennis DeYoung thought about America in 74, How disgusted must he be now?

“Borrowed Time” from Cornerstone is kinda similar in terms of theme.

Dennis De Young and Tommy Shaw have polar opposite political views. I mean Tommy Shaw joining up with Ted Nugent says it all! TS played in “Those Damn Yankees.” There is no hope for a reunion though. He is with Styx 4ever.

@RickNeedham Hey Rick Thanks. 😎👍 Did you get a chance to listen to that song By Dennis DeYoung, "Black Wall" ? And I'm wondering, what video making app do you use to make These Great Videos ? I'd like to find a free one, if not then cheap for now, one that has an effect where the the images or pictures pop in time to the music.

@ Johnny Bee🐝Good 4 Loren Yes I did get to listen to it. I love anything by Dennis DeYoung! I use Windows Movie Maker for ALL my videos. It used to come included in earlier versions of Microsoft Windows. It is no longer supported by Microsoft, and I don't think it comes in the last couple versions of Windows. I suggest doing a thorough Google search for it. The original version of it is best if you can find it. I think are copied versions of it out there that are not like the original version. It's quite a powerful video editor/creator software that was the easiest for me to learn on my own. There are many others out there, like Wondershare Filmora. But to me, the learning curve was much too steep and confusing. Windows Movie Maker was much easier for me to grasp. If you have difficulties finding a good copy to download for free on the internet, let me know in a return comment. Maybe I could find you the best link location where to find it. Good luck!!
