Myles is a class act. I know someone who was on tour with him. He told me that Myles is so kind that he spent weeks trying to figure out what his angle was, waiting for him to reveal who he really is. He said he finally had to accept that’s just who Myles really is-the most genuinely kind and humble person he’s ever met.

Myles is so humble he does not even mention Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones flew him out to jam. He did sing with them for a dress rehearsal type thing for a possible tour to replace Plant ( who did not want to tour) after the UK reunion show with Jason on drums.

Well as a music lover tinnitus sounds like a blessing when I know being deaf is a thing I absolutely dread. Not to belittle having tinnitus, more to give a silver lining type thinking. You can still hear the music and therefore enjoy it in a familiar way right? If you're deaf, say goodbye to that. Also no shade on deaf people. You can still enjoy music but just not the same way. Point is, joy is always present, you merely have to be open to it!

I like Myles' low to mid range singing. I really am not a fan of his higher stuff though, it sounds too boyish and thin and detracts from the emotionality of the music big time IMO. Just a personal preference of course. Of course he's an amazing guitarist and songwriter, there's no debating that.
@GizzyDillespee
@GizzyDillespee 3 жыл бұрын
@@alext2566 I'm not the biggest fan of the strident vocals either. I love his softer vocals, especially the lows and mids. I probably don't have representative or typical taste in music, though. EDIT: Listening closer, I think maybe it's partly because of the pitch instability that I prefer the softer singing, compared to the louder parts. I told you I was a weirdo. It's more organic and vulnerable vs sheer hard edge, so I guess I prefer the songs that call for the more vulnerable side. Cobain was really good at the confluence of vulnerability and power. Anyway. Great musician.

Myles Kennedy is one of, if not the best singers in the music industry today. His God-given instrument is so amazing. This is why he has recorded so many amazing songs and is in some of the greatest bands in the world today like Alter Bridge and Slash and the Conspirators. I thought, at first, that Myles was being overly humble, but as this interview went on I felt more like he didn't want to downplay how much WORK he's put into his craft! And I wholeheartedly applaud that 👏👏👏

Best male vocals alive today. So unaware of what he means to rock. I've played Life Must Go On for people who aren't fans of rock and loath soft rock and pop, yet Miles voice has given them a reason to retest the entire genre. Freddy Mercury was the last person I'd seen stop people who were "folk or fuck off" in their tracks. My dad was one of those folks, knew every Belfast artist in the early 60's, and he would have loved Miles's voice.

“Watch over you” the song I turned on in my car on the road to my father’s funeral. My mother was devastated but after his disease at the time we all felt relief in death. And the chorus of this Alter Bridge tune unleashed our final crying… 🙏

Just ran into Myles at the grocery store the other day. He'd just wrapped up a leg of a tour, got home for a second and headed to U2 at the Sphere. I've been acquainted with Myles for about 30 years, as we are both here in Spokane. Always a humble and nice guy. Super stoked he made it. Great singer and great guitarist.

Interesting to hear talk from a person who can't even spell the guys name 😜 It's Myles. It's even in the title. How familiar with the guy can you be if you don't know how to spell his name? I'm just giving you a hard time all in fun man. He's definitely one of the best rock vocalists alive today. There's a few phenomenal rock vocalists up there with him. Brent Smith is up there. One I feel like some people forget about is Chris Daughtry. I've never been the biggest fan but the guy has a phenomenal voice.

Funny - no one talks about Myles’ acoustic technique. He’s smooth as butter. I hate it when a great singer is held to a harder standard guitar-wise. He’s got it. Done. A brilliant artist - not just a great singer. Enough already. Give the guy the cred he earned.

@@RB-oc7ti, My journey is going well thus far, thank you for asking. Finding solace and entertainment on this channel has enriched my view of life and music in wonderful ways. I grew up about the same time frame you stated and I am expanding my music listening journey by learning other languages as well. Rock in English, however, was (is) my fav since a very young age. Classical music is also very important in my life. Greetings from Méjico.
