Belgian royals together: including former King Albert and his daughter Delphine

At the annual commemoration mass for the deceased members of the royal family, the Belgian royal family is almost complete. King Filip, Queen Mathilde, King Albert and Queen Paola, but also Princess Delphine are there. It is the first time that Albert shows himself in public with his daughter Delphine.

I am a very religious Catholic and traditional and you don't deny your own children just to save face for yourself. It's a greater sin to not honor an innocent life that came into the world in less than desirable circumstances but equal to every other human being and should be loved and respected. I'm glad to see them apparently healing as a family.

Tribute to the deceased members of the Royal Family at the Church of Our Lady of Laeken. On February 17, 1935, a mass was celebrated in commemoration of King Albert I, who died accidentally in Marche-les-Dames in 1934. After the death of Queen Astrid on 29 August 1935, it was decided to commemorate all the deceased members of the Royal Family on 17 February. Since then a Mass has been celebrated every year on this date in the Church of Laeken. After Mass, the royal family visits the Royal Crypt located in the church.

Bizarre! This went down-hill from the beginning with all the fussy clergy causing a backlog at the entrance with their insincere blather. Next, the former king, with a bandage on his head from a fall should have been able to get into the building with a side elevator. The press with their cameras should not ever be allowed inside the building. There was profound music being, played yet all we could hear was the constant annoying click, click, click of their cameras. Disgusting to say the least. C’mon Belgium, you can do so much better!

Normally that would be paid for out of there private income, in the UK the civil list is published, exactly how much and for what, so there’s no need to assume it’s not correctly dealt with.
