What a wonderful pod! Kristen is a gem. I’ve always loved her! She’s such a great friend and peer. My son is nonverbal autistic and he is 8. My daughter is 5, verbal/ high functioning. It’s great to hear about your new role. I have such a problem with how Hollywood portrays autism. The only series that I’ve seem to get behind is Parenthood and Atypical. And you have to have the mindset that you have autism, autism doesn’t have you. And it is just a piece of you. I’m a former teacher and feel that early detection is key. If children are aware of it early on, they realize it’s just a piece of them. It doesn’t define you. But do know that you will bring so much awareness to Autism for the good. You are an amazing entertainer. Just know that you will make a positive difference in so many children, teens and young adults. Just think of so many adults out there who still struggle daily without a diagnosis. How hard the simplest tasks are that they have to do just to get through the day. And when all else fails, just look at Bert Kreisler. 🤣

I know this is an older episode, but really feeling the need to comment. Recently I found out that I am autistic. The pandemic really showed me the differences between myself and my friends. Its not a bad thing, its not a good thing, it just is. Well, not entirely true. For me it is very good, because it explains a lot to me. Now, since this is still relatively new, I've been seeking out a lot of autistic content, and a lot of autistic creators. I've gone through basically every single TV show with anything related to autism, and same for KZbinrs. Its been a lot. This is where Rick came in. I found him through "As We See It". Thought the show was okay, but the characters were good. Then found out that the actors were actually autistic, and that Rick actually has this podcast. Been watching for a bit now, and, Rick, you've helped me a lot. Not in any way specifically, but because you actually remind me of myself to an extent. Similar personality it seems, similar mannerisms, and even a similar speaking cadence. That's been very very helpful for me, since I deal with a lot of imposter syndrome in my work, but also when it comes to autism now. I keep thinking to myself "Am I really autistic? But I did _____. I like _______." Lots of things like that. So then when I found Rick, I found someone like me, who's also autistic. I know that autism is very different in every autistic person, but having someone "like me" really does go a long way.

Honestly, hands down the most amazing story arc played out in interview podcast form. Beautifully orchestrated, from the original set ups so long ago until now. It's pretentious to say but this seems like a totally unique form of entertainment. It's real but not, intimate but choreographed, absurd but deep, planned but random, it has a collection of reoccurring characters, musical interludes, the Cleveland Browns, fear but growth, Bitcoin but farts, big goblin cock, autism awareness, uncle's and movie stars. Some of it was awkward along the way, but these 102 eps have been amazing. I wonder what next season has in store.
