Dax is one of the good ones. Came from a dirt poor Michigan background and hasn’t lost those values. He’s also a centrist that sees both sides of things which is unusual. I saw him in person in Oct at a liquor store while he was promoting his non alcoholic beer. It was supposed to be a 2 hour appearance but the line was wrapped around the building and he told the manager he’s not leaving until he speaks with every person. He stayed 5 hours and spent minutes which each person asking about them and taking pictures. He was awesome

Dax is so spot on about drinking and the people that may never quit if they don't have any drastic consequences. Im in my early 40s and I had to stop my nightly glass of wine a few years ago because it was really affecting my ability to sleep. Today it's a real gamble if I decide to have a glass or two of alcohol as if I will feel pretty normal the next day or completely horrid. My husband was a heavy drinker, a functioning alcoholic who did awesome at his day job but had a horrible attitude at home. I desperately wanted him to stop drinking and he only did when he was hospitalized for 10 days for pancreatitis. His liver enzymes were so high, and now they are back to normal range for the first time in years. His hospitalization was so scary, and my kids didn't see him for over a week because I didn't want them to see him in that state (nearly comatose). But now I'm really grateful it happened. It saved him and our family.
