I'm reading THE LAST CHANCE TEXACO right now. Rickie prose is magical poetry. I'm astounded by her mastery of the English language. She's excellent. The book, for me, is a page turner. Her life would have broken me beyond repair, but Rickie is a champion.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

A fantastic read, and an even more fantastic listen if you get the audio version she reads herself. Makes the whole thing that much more alive and real. What a remarkable person, remarkable artist, remarkable woman. So much love and respect.

The audiobook is great. I'm so glad she reads it herself. I agree with your comment. She adds her special touch, narrating her story.

I’m on chapter 18. Wow! It reads like fiction that would never be believed. What a glimpse into your songs mother! I’m not a huge reader but look forward to every evening before bed to get back your story.

Hey Rickie, I read the book in two days. It was such a surprise and such an intriguing, well-written, almost nail-biting read. Who knew, what a story. I felt like the guy in the old Memorex tape ad, sitting in the chair with my hands holding tightly onto the armrests, while my hair is being blown straight back. Wow. I do hope there is at least a second companion volume. I need to read it again and take my time with it to highlight the amazing writing. Teresa's description of the book is so spot on. Teresa, you are a treasure too. So nice to meet you as well. Best to all. Blessings to us all, everyone.

My favorite writer ever. Beautiful honesty, authenticity, strong integrity (stood out to me too) - her sense of self - her spiritual, mercurial, magical kind of dance through finally reaching her dream. I'd love to read anything Rickie writes.

Okay so I’m at the half way point of your book. And let me just say, forget the Finding your Roots - girl your life is and should be a movie in and of itself. And I haven’t even gotten to fame n success yet. But it is truly a miracle time and time again that you are alive. The universe had bigger plans as it saved you every time ✨✨✨✨🙏🏽💗 And I’m so grateful it did. As I’m listening to Flying Cowboys at the moment

Thank you for the book, a fascinating read. We're not far apart in age and I recognize so much of what you have described in its time. Your music has been part of the soundtrack of my life since I was 16. I collected 45's as a kid, not so much albums; but "On Saturday Afternoons..." (a b-side,) so captured my spirit and I had to hear more and I bought your debut album and it's been a wonderful journey. Thank you.

Hi Rickie, I'm almost done listening to the audio book! So Good! My friend Debbie O"Neil said she went to High school with you in Olympia. I've seen you in concert about 5 times. Your Pirates album is my very favorite. Thanks for singing and writing such great touching songs, you and Stevie Nicks are my Favorite singers! Your music is so Healing! I had a crush on you 43 years ago, I sent your mom a letter to give to you back in 1979. Don't know if you ever got it? I need to get back with my song writing, before my dad died in the hospital in July 1980, the last words he said to me, was he heard my song on the radio! Joey

Rickie, i still hold Our memory of giving you a rose on your Magazine tour in Madison, Wisconsin. You sat on my lap in tje front row and asked what song i would request. I always came to see you at the Barrymore for years after that . ❤️🥰😊 🌹

Rickie, the book is an inspiration. You are an inspiration. You are an amazing multi-talented artist, blessed with a brilliant mind and a beautiful soul. Who do you listen to? I'm a Canuck raised on R&R. With older brothers I was exposed to Buddy, Elvis, Sam, Roy, Dion then the British invasion. I loved the Rascals (most under rated band ever). But something happened in 79. I discovered your voice. You put a spell on me then and I'm glad you did. You opened my eyes to Jaz, Blues and all things Rickie. Today I appreciate only a fraction of what I did in yesteryear. But, I discovered Beth Hart a few years ago and she is spectacular. Bless you Rickie and know you are loved.

I can’t wait to get my copy, I’m glad you posted and shared this little tidbit.. makes it even more enticing! Also Rickie, would love to see you on an episode of Finding Your Roots.. with Henry Louis Gates Jr. aka Skip. I have a feeling there will be a lot of interesting stones that were left unturned and probably leave you with a larger sense of understanding of where you (as with all of his guests) come from - those DNA waters run deep you know 🌺

I just read your book. I actually went back and re-read some of it. It has a lot of history in it. I am so glad you wrote it. I saw your interview with Whoopie Goldberg on The View and enjoyed her response to the book. She understood exactly what you were describing throughout the book and seemed to love it as much I as I do.
