The Rex design is cool. I don't think NEON RED AND BLUE works very well for an apex predator, considering that those are LITERALLY WHAT POLICE USE AS APOSEMATIC COLORATION but it's definitely a nice change from JP inspired rexes.

If we use the popular (though entirely inaccurate) interpretation that the T-rex was a bloodthirsty killing machine that slaughtered and consumed everything in it’s path, then it is a quite accurate allegory.

Personally I didn't mind the dinosaur designs and colors of the first film, it's probably because I'm a sucker for really bright and vibrant dinosaurs. I just wish that T-Rex played a larger role in the film considering it was the only film to have a feathered Rex in such a way. However that does bring me to a rather difficult truth about dinosaur movies, there will always be a Tyrannosaurid in a dinosaur movie, even if it poses no real threat or doesn't have that many scenes. Personally I would be fine if the Rex was entirely cut from this film and replaced with another large carnivore like Spinosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Acrocanthosaurus, etc. I find it ridiculous that film makers feel like they need a Tyrannosaurus in their film and not one of the less noted species. I get Rex is basically a sure way of getting people excited, since it is the most popular dinosaur, however I find it lazy and uncreative to always have T-Rex in films. I encourage directors that want to film dinosaur movies to stay away from Tyrannosaurus and try something new, make your film different and outgoing and not just a rip off of the amazement and horror we got from Jurassic Park's Tyrannosaurus Rex.
@dodapictures2141

I think you never seen Disney's Dinosaur then. that movie got two Carnotaurs and played a very big role in that movie as the main threat (villain). i dont know from other movies but Disney's Dinosaur were Carnotaurs and those are not Tyrannosaurids but Abelisaurids.
@alienstar2088
@alienstar2088 Жыл бұрын
@@netabolt6546 Yes however, notice that within that very film the Carnotaurs are not portrayed like an Abelisaurid would be, they took on larger, slower, bulkier forms; forms oddly reminiscent of Tyrannosaurus Rex. It wasn't bad enough that Tyrannosaurus basically dominated Dinosaur media but, it was apparently so bad that film makers tweaked other unrelated species into fitting the same roles Tyrannosaurus could've.

I want to give the first film some credit for actually including feathered dinosaurs and Sinornithosaurus, a dinosaur that really deserves more love imo, but then they just squished a really small arthropleura and played it for jokes so I instantly go back on my previous statement. I know arthropleura is always a pussy in media, in walking with monsters it gets empaled by a tree stump of all things despite its armour, in primeval it breaks its back from falling like a vertebrate would and in prehistoric park it had to get saved or be roasted alive, the last one I kinda get but can we please just get a movie, Documentary or something where the ridiculously well armoured millipede relative is actually ridiculously armoured?

Assuming I was old enough to direct the 90s adult dinosaur island movie I make the natives clothing as historically accurate as possible with them wearing ice age for coats for the higher parts of the mountainous areas and the loosefitting clothing would not be American swimsuits but Polynesian/aboriginal Maori inspired (like what Moana Wears)

I remember Dinosaur Island (no, not Dinosaur Island, I mean Dinosaur Island) and I remember how they kept saying how "ground breaking" it was how "revolutionary" it was because it was the first piece of media to feature a feathered t-rex in a time when t-rex didn't heave feathers (also when the belief was strong that t-rex couldn't run because it's bones would break, as if that isn't complete nonsense) But then we got...well whatever that movie is.

In the first dinosaur island, they look like those evolved giant birdy-thingies from “the future is wild,” no? Also, if she’s from the 50s, her knowledge of palaeontology should be very narrow as most of our (accurate) discoveries happened in the last 50 years, right? 7:36 *Wait.* Wouldn’t the Sinornithosaurus be unable to crush the firefly due to a combination of its low weight, distribution of said weight, and feathers? I’ve had less success crushing roaches with a shoe. It’s even less believable where it got crushed. The firefly would have realistically been near unharmed because their shells are pretty thick(in comparison to other insects of their size), and Sinos are pretty light(in comparison to however much force an arm can grant a shoe).

"Dinosaur Island is such a generic title that there are three different movies with that name" ...Actually four- there was some kind of 2D animated movie made by DIC that didn't even feature an island. It was, no joke, described as "an island-like mesa". The ""movie"" features such gems as: 1. Teen hooligans that won a spot on a "Survivor" style game show (two of which didn't even WANT to be on the show so why did they sign up) 2. Dinosaurs whose innacuracies ranged from the expected featherlessness to legs that looked more broken than KZbin's copyright system 3. Furry cavemen. I will not elaborate. 4. South America, because that's where all the ancient-life-that-should-be-dead-but-isn't is located
