His analogy of vultures and hyenas looking “vile” doesn’t even make sense. The appearance of animals being vile or cute is incredibly subjective. Hyenas are pretty fluffy, they only look very scary when they’re eating their preys innards while it screams for mercy. You could literally combat Jack Horner's entire Scavenger Theory by showing him a picture of a snake. Poor eyesight, can still catch live prey with its sense of SMELL. No arms, can still catch live prey with its MOUTH. Can't go fast enough to properly pursue prey(barring certain speedier species like the black mamba), can still catch live prey with AMBUSH. Snakes have all the "disadvantages" that Horner claims would make T-Rex a shit predator, and yet snakes are perfectly capable hunters, and that's ignoring the fact that Horner's claim about T-Rex having poor vision is straight up false. Plus, what would be the point of evolving a bone-shattering bite force if all this animal would be doing is ripping flesh off a corpse? The only realistic thing about this documentary is that T-Rex actually was likely to be pretty chunky(mostly muscle, but chunky nonetheless). The legs on that model look a bit too thin to be holding that much weight, though, but I could be wrong there. It's a shame that some of Horner's ideas have given him a bit of a bad rep, though, because he looks like a pretty easygoing and pleasant guy. (EDIT: never mind apparently he married a fucking nineteen year old, I take it all back)

The most glaring evidence that Horner's a terrible scientist (however good he may be at being a fossil excavator) is at 12:31. "I think it's bad science to say that something *may* have happened..." No, Jack, that's *good* science. That's why the highest level of certainty in science is a theory (and no creationists, that still doesn't mean 'a guess'). We have no possible way of knowing with absolute certainty any creature's past behaviours. 'May' is one of the main things that helps fight against science becoming dogma!

15:29 The funny thing is, the image of Tyrannosaurus being bald-headed, stinky and thickset doesn't, in my mind, take away from it's ability to be a sprint-tastic Late Cretaceous One-hit-one-kill bone-breaking guillotine with teeth; if anything it makes T rex seem even cooler and unique. Animals aren't lovable just because they're pretty or sleek anyway. So yeah, thanks for accidentally making T rex even more badass than you ever dreamed Horner.

What makes the "can't get up" evidence even more BS is the fact that we recently found that T.Rex's arms, though short, are actually very muscular. This means that it can easily get up and even attack close-up with those arms. So yes, the "can't get up" theory makes no sense nowadays, and this makes Jack Horner's theories even more fictional. Smh 😡 Edit: 18:30-18:39 I have all of the Mattel Jurassic World T. Rexes, and all of them *can't* scratch their bellies, but they *can* easily clap their hands together. So this is *F A L S E !*
@bkjeong43022 жыл бұрын
While Tyrannosaurus’s arms were pretty powerful, you’re ignoring that they don’t have much of a reach. Tyrannosaurus probably relied almost entirely, if not entirely, on its jaws when it was attacking prey. Just bite the prey, use its bite force + robust build to latch on, and pull it down.

@@pierre-samuelroux9364 This is because we apparently have children in charge of paleoanthropology who only see the world as black and white. Spinosaurus was most likely a combination of swimming and running on the bed of a river or lake. Much like how a hippo can move (and move FAST) through the water. The big sail on the back of a spinosaurus is pretty obviously like a vertical fin that keeps it standing upright as it runs across the riverbed.
