Sent you a small donation over Rick. What a great cause. It was us - my step daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour when she was 8 years old, we watched her go through various surgeries and god knows how many MRI scans - even a a trip to Oklahoma when she was 13 for Proton Beam Therapy. Unfortunately when we returned she was then diagnosed with Leukemia - unrelated to her brain tumour, and during her intense treatment for that - further brain and spinal tumours we're detected - it was bleak, and the doctors and Macmillan nurses were preparing us for the worse. Thankfully, she fought, and overcame, and last year got married - it was a special day. I know parents that weren't so fortunate, and I've been to the funerals. 😥 It's amazing who steps up and who steps away when you find yourselves going through a tough time - we had great support from people close to us and some not so close, but even then there were gaps that could have been filled - You've picked an absolutely cause to support here. 🙏

Scottie is like the guy who used to dominate your school's sports day, you hated him but secretly wanted to be him
@MLMfraser8 ай бұрын
Agree with you on a lot of things but Scottie is the best, he is grounded, real, a family first guy, and all in all the type of star that would should be looking up to, really just can't disagree with you more on this one

for all the money LIV has paid out to have only 1 player in contention is devastating. Good place for washed up players to get a payday. eg Bubba Watson and DJ

LIV is proving to be the place where careers go to die. I seriously think that the lighter schedule and fewer competitive rounds are impacting players’ effectiveness come the majors. Look at how DeChambeau flamed out and the horrible finish by the defending champ.

The Master's becoming "old hat" for Sir Rick Shiels? All puns intended.

Commentary needs to improve on Sky's coverage. Bryson comes across as a v decent guy on his KZbin, yet got ridiculed by the commentary team all weekend for his one-length shafts, putting style etc. On the odd occasion they're not reminiscing on how golf was 40 years ago, they're moaning about big hitters and what players are wearing. Like listening to dinosaurs, needs a fresh approach with more positivity

I know that the wind made the two middle rounds really tough this year, but Scottie played a great tourney. He might not be the most exciting player, but to be honest not many of the guys are. I wish Augusta would use some of the other tees through the week. They use the back tees all the time, imagine 13 and 15 back to the "normal" length for Sunday and maybe Friday. The 11th hole is another one that could use a more forward tee, not the members tee, but maybe one of the other tees they have used over the years.

I really enjoyed the Masters this year. I liked the narrative with Scottie dominating golf, PGA vs LIV, Scotties wife being pregnant, Tiger Woods playing well at the start, Verne Lundquist last broadcast, Max Homa and Tommy drawing attention. And the Masters app (IBM) killed it. It was very interactive and user friendly. The camera shots were absolutely stunning. The weather really played a factor with the wind… so watching the athletes being creative was really cool. Oh, and wondering how the heck Bryson De was going to compete with his 3D printed irons. I really enjoyed it.

Scotty did a great job no question but it was boring didn’t have that special magic for some reason and Tiger finished last and Rory blew up again.

Personalities do improve the quality of watching. I watched this year until Bryson was some what out and then stopped. Nothing wrong with having an incredible golfer playing in one of the best tournaments, but personally I'd rather be watching a dramatic well known personality clash player battle or a known personality rather than someone who hits 18 hole in ones. It's why Rick has more viewers on his KZbin channel than some professionalsd, you enjoy the player first, their game is just extra.

It was a beautiful afternoon in the east coast of the US. Many of my die hard golf fan neighbors tuned out after the 11th to be outside and play with the kids and hangout with the neighbors.

Never liked Woods myself , but love what Scheffler is doing . The mental strength to follow his Masters win with the RBC was off the charts ! Aberg has a phenomenal swing and will win some big ones - what a putter !

The fact that the game was completely open for 3 days and 9 holes, and how we had a 5way tie at -6 day three is just proof that The Masters is the best golf tournament.

Can’t fault Scottie for the lack of drama on the back 9. He kept pressing, which forced everyone else to feel like they have to press, which caused mistakes, and pulls away. That’s what a dominating player does. In fact, when he’s on a leaderboard, he’s having that inevitable effect, making everyone feel like that have to be perfect to win, and playing outside of themselves. That’s the most Tiger-like thing about him. But he’s much more of a Palmer/Nicklaus in personal makeup. Best of both worlds.

Do you think anything can be done for people like me who apply for the lottery every year but NEVER get it. I just want to go for one day, to experience Augusta. It feels impossible and being a public servant, it would be a real treat.
@fredlarke38068 ай бұрын
Re Tiger, he finished the second round, after 23 holes and a wind storm, at only +1 ; then he lost it on Sat & Sun. I think that's impressive and encouraging for next year after his body has had another year to heal.

On Wednesday you could only take the founders circle photo between 8-10am. I showed up at like 10:30am and was told the only way to take the pic would be starting Thursday 8-5.

Rick's opinion on the Masters is just be cause Tiger isn't winning. Can't compare the "roar" of the Masters then to now. I was a bit underwhelmed, but that's because everyone played poorly. I expected a -16 or better to win, but because of the course difficulty, so many ppl were playing well, then choked.

If Tiger remains fit enough to walk majors, when he turns 50 he may play Champions Tour with buggy (as is allowed, I understand) to get missing competitive reps in to tune game without stress on walking, leaving that for the majors.
