the1mexicant looking up at the shot makes you have a longer and more extended follow through keeping your head down too long bunches your neck and you follow through with no extension. 99.9 percent of your pros look up at the ball. Tiger probably does it the most but all of them do it
@No_one_important22
@No_one_important22 4 жыл бұрын
austi exactly. Tiger was always taught to keep his eye on the ball through the whole shot so he can get the best follow through. Where some golfers make the mistake is lifting the head too early which can cause your body to follow and a bad strike b

I remember just starting out in golf, I was always told the way to effectively hit a golf ball, was ball first, grass after. Never could do it until really focusing on videos like this, now taking a divot every time, and distance of the ball comes flying off the face! Unbelievable and absolutely incredible feeling it is!!! Thanks coach!

Seeing the position of that divot in relation to the ball is extremely helpful. I would not have guessed that it should be 2-3 inches in front of the ball. I always thought is should be starting directly under the ball. And I wonder why I hit it fat so often. Something to work on. Thanks Rick.

Half an hour of practice on mat already showing improvements. But i can only do it at lower speed maybe at 60 or 70 percent. faster swing feel a very flatened shoulder plane. You know what, Rick? Out of all of the advice, the tip about keeping the sternum over the ball is all I needed. It got the point across to stay straight because it gave me a reference to think about on the back swing. It feels weird forcing myself to stay still and not sway backwards. I didn't even realize I was swaying back before. I stood outside an hit about a hundred balls throughout the day today in to the net after seeing this and rarely had a mis-strike unless I did sway back (and I noticed I did it). Now I just have to apply this on the course. Thanks!

Great info about the downswing - thanks. Best tip I saw recently with regards to that was from Sergio Garcia - He explained on the downswing, feel like your pulling down on a heavy chain towards the target. If you do that (in a gentle manner), it should naturally make the all important shoulder and forward body movement over the ball. Sorry, maybe not the greatest explanation, but Sergio said it was one of the first things he tells amateurs - so not gonna argue with him!

This video was a huge help! I went to the range today with a camera to see why I was struggling. Turns out I wasn't swinging through the ball well. I often dropped my shoulder or even leaned back. I still have work to do, but I can't wait to get back out on the course.
