Beautifull painting and very interesting to watch your painting process which are very beautifull and a fine mixture of abstraction and Nature impression - and very strange that the sound no longer is there

Thanks LIs. The sound was removed due to a copyright infringement. Unfortunately I used some background music that I had in my iTunes library without having permission from the record label.

This was a wonderful demo. Your work always inspires me to try new things. I would love to know what kind of easel that is. You moved it up and down so easily.

It's called a 'Hugh's Easel' I have a smaller model too, which is still pretty large. It operates on a pulley system with weights which are added or subtracted as needed to balance the weight of the painting support.

Don't you just hate it when your well constructed video gets spoiled with the dreaded "This video previously contained a copyright audio track. Due to a claim by a copyright holder, the audio track has been muted." You know why bother?

Rick, what do you use to varnish / seal your painting with all the different mediums and textures applied to the canvas? Love your work!
@banness47119 жыл бұрын
Stumbled upon your video via Pinterest. Loved watching your process in making this painting. I'm curious though, at what point do you feel a work your painting is "done"?! As I watched and you kept adding layers and expanding this painting I kept thinking to myself, "I would've stopped sooner." I do, however, love your end result and can see why you didn't stop sooner!

Painting with aesthetic beauty. Loved it. Sir what kind of color and canvas you have used ?
@RickStevensstudio5 жыл бұрын
Regular canvas. I use both oils from tubes and oil bars. I mix oils with wax also, and use some textural elements such as gauze and sand. I speak about it in the video, unfortunately the sound has been removed by youtube due to a copyright issue infringement with the background music that I chose.

What brand of oil paint are you using?
@RickStevensstudio5 жыл бұрын
I use several brands, Old Holland, Williamsburg, Sennelier, Grumacher, Winsor Newton, Blockx ... sometimes I like certain colors from certain brands. I'm using oil bars as well, mostly R&F Brand.

Hi Rick..are you using a brayer when applying the semi-translucent overcoat of oil/wax or is it a kind of mini paint roller?
@RickStevensstudio9 жыл бұрын
yes a brayer Rachelle. It works well for the oil/wax mixture.
@RachelleMeagher9 жыл бұрын
Rick Stevens Thank you..I am trying to achieve the atmospheric quality you explain at 3:17. With Acrylic..do you use semi-transparent paints or does the watering down make it so?
@RickStevensstudio9 жыл бұрын
Adding wax makes it semi transparent.

I am a big follower of your work. I so enjoy what you capture. The videos are great to watch and enhance the feeling of the finished painting for me. Can you tell me something about your easel. It looks fabulous. Is it a commercial brand? can you also turn it into a table easel? Continued success to you. Love the videos you share with the audience. Thanks for all.
