I have to disagree with everyone on here. Joshua Tree - Rattle & Hum & Elevation was U2 at their peak. Under a Blood Red Sky, Unforgettable Fire & Vertigo are up there too. Achtung Baby is their 2nd best album after Joshua Tree tour but this version of U2 performing wasn't my favorite. I've seen them 21 times & although I can't deny the grandeur of this tour, it wasn't my favorite. Still very good though. I loved their performance of Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World. I was so happy to see it performed at the Sphere again.

They had a tremendous albeit short run at the top during the late 80's. Neither band is even in the same league as U2. If you want a comparable, how about the *Rolling Stones* ? People came out of their houses and flats to watch and listen. It was a great atmosphere, the young, the old, and the vaguely curious all watched and sang together-wonderful. Army recon plane flew through the spot lights pointed skywards during Bullet The Blue Sky- weird and yet magical.

A truly fantastic show, but it was almost the end. Prior to the 1st Sydney show, which was on the night prior to this one, Adam had an alcohol-induced blackout and missed the show. It was the first time since the early days of the band that one of them missed a gig. There was a lot of tension around this "betrayal" considering it was the much-hyped conclusion to the tour. But to Adam's credit, he pulled it together well enough to perform. He realised that he had let everyone down the prior night and wound up straightening up his life and getting sober. Otherwise, the bands fortunes might have been rather different.
