what the hell ... for the past 4 podcasts i've been thinking the EXACT same thing. i listen to them late at night and i can't hear karl but then turning the volume up... ricky's laugh just then takes over and wakes the other housemates! i had to check your username to make sure i hadn't wrote your comment and forgot haha

Yeah it's 6 weeks, we finish in about mid July and then start on the first day of September, it's actually about 5 weeks for people in Primary and 6 for people in high school I think, or the other way around...Either way we get about 6 weeks off haha

That's just wonky. In Washington state, we get school off at the beginning of June and start in mid September, which is usually about three months total. Then we only get two weeks off for winter break and one week off for spring break.

We get a load of half terms, for example my sister finishes next week for a week holiday then she's back in after that, then the next one will be christmas and after that it'll be in february I believe then two weeks in April, we probably have 3 months off in total but not in one go which I prefer because I used to get bored shitless in the 6 week holidays

I actually felt bad for Ricky when Steve made fun/slagged him off for his giggling and making funny noises, I'm sure he can be a very annoying guy to be around with how silly and noisy he can be, but it seems like something he can't really control, like an annoying laugh or nervous tic. Though Ricky strikes me as a thick skinned guy, even if he gets wound up easily.
