Yes another pronunciation of the words Mitakuye Oyasin. I have searched high and low for the correct way to say this phrase but as I found out many Native Americans and even the Lakota say this phrase in different ways. Thank you so much for speaking of forgiveness. I am not sure my ancestors were even here (Irish) but still the deep regret of what happened in the past between the Native American Nations and the European People that came with such arrogance and violence. I have read and read and studied many books and stories, and many of my heroes are Indians. I have studied their language, their philosophy and religions and stories. I have been honored to have native American Friends and attend Pow Wows and other events. Because of words like I hear here , I feel there is hope. Yes, let us not forget, in fact we need to educate. As a teacher in my classroom I taught the true history and tried to help my student understand what happened. I hope I got some student thinking and encouraged my Native students to be around of their heritage and people.

Thank you Ricky Gray Grass for letting non natives know the history of of just a touch of what the native peoples went through. To be stripped of all your identity, or them trying to anyway lol. Thanks for Creator giving the ancestors the courage to keep and pass down what could be!! I wasn’t raised native but I have it in my veins from both maternal and paternal but it was decades ago. But I give thanks every day that I was raised that way without knowing it was the way of my ancestors. I’m am so very thankful!! Keep passing it on brother. 💜
