The only time in boxing history that a hotel ran out of beer in a Vegas hotel for a boxing match 25.000 Brits drunk the Paris Hotel dry and the Famous Quote from the fight from Ricky Hatton was "It was like fighting in my own back yard"

I watched Hatton right from day 1, he was a phenomenally talented fighter and had the most devastating, most venomous body shots I've ever seen in my 49 years. I absolutely loved Ricky and I still do. Not only were those savage body shots horrible to be on the receiving end of, he would fight like that at this relentless pace for the entire 12 rounds if you actually lasted that long.🇬🇧✌️

Ricky actually boxed quite well in this fight, especially first round, fought quick in and out, and it's a shame he couldnt box as good as other fighters. He would've been as dominant possibly as a lightweight if he had the chance to to be fair.

Personally, I was surprised that he can used this technique. Clutching is one of the most effective techniques of Sammy Anggott and Roberto Duran and this style is good in breaking your opponents rhythm. If he just used this strategy to Pacquiao, he could have won or make the fight more closer. Instead he tried to use a sure-fire failed strategy of simply using his size to Pacquiao.

@raygan12214 жыл бұрын
Wow, I didn't know Hatton was good at clutching techniques. Why he didn't use this to Pacquiao instead of trying to bully Pacquiao which every one knows a sure-fire failed strategy. He could have won that fight if he tried to negate PACQUIAO'S rhythm by switching from attacking to clutching, then clutching to attacking then bullying. Horn used this strategy and it works. And Hatton is far better in-fighter than Horn.
@BrownBomber921814 жыл бұрын
Horn is physically much bigger than Hatton, a very big welterweight vs a small welterweight in Pac. Also Horn went overboard with illegal tactics & should've been penalized, but there was definitely some dirty pool being played there in Aus. I think Top Rank had something to do with that, remember Pac didnt sign the extension that Bob wanted him to sign before the fight. Same thing happened before the first Bradley fight.
@raygan12214 жыл бұрын
@@BrownBomber92181 perhaps Horn is bigger but it's not only about the size. Remember, Duran is far smaller than Hatton but he can maul opponents bigger than Horn. It's also about the skills. And no, Horn is not a dirty fighter. There were some fouls, yes, but he didn't fought dirty like most Pactards wanted to believe. He simply used his physical strength over Pacquiao to break Pacquiao's rythm. Plus, even if he fought dirty, I really don't care. It's Pacquiao's job to make adjustments, so that's not an excuse. About Arum supposedly cooking the fight. Well, please, stop acting like Pacquiao is a naive teenage school girl. For Pete's sake, he's 20+ years veteran boxer, even people who is not involved in boxing knows that you're risking yourself to a hometown decision loss if you fight in your opponent's backyard. He was aware of that when he signed the contract. Plus, he has the power to indirectly choose the venue, judges, referee, etc. Heck, he even choose Horn's Vaseline. He simply underestimated Horn, that's why he lost.

@@raygan1221 those headbuttes were pretty ridiculous, itd make Andre Ward jealous. Also the holding Pac in a head lock & punching with the other hand were blatant & dirty as well. Pac should've fouled him back since the ref was apparently blind to all of Horns dirty tactics, but hes never been that type of boxer, too nice I guess. Watch Pacs fight against Agapito Sanchez the back in 03, Roach was begging for him to foul back but he wouldn't. To me theres nothing worse than a dirty fighter, I use to box in the early 2000's at Toccos gym in Vegas, & even just sparring I'd have guys that were trying to foul me, & it piss me the fuck off, I dunno how Pac doesn't get mad.
@BrownBomber921814 жыл бұрын
Having said that the ref must stop a fighter from fouling otherwise they'll lose control of the fight. Watch Ruiz vs Golata or Ward vs Rodriguez, those were both shitshows cos of the ridiculous fouling throughout the fight.
