My wife sent this to me, god bless her!!! She has had her hard times bringing up two kids while I have been “out the gate” many times!!! I am 65 now and it’s all behind me! But as a Pipefitter I was fortunate to have grown up with real men, men with principles, men from Humberside, North East, South Wales, Merseyside! Real men !!!!! Thank god I had that upbringing!!! My boy now 32 keeps telling me “he doesn’t know anyone like me “ because he had the benefit of a university education and what I mean by that is, he has never been exposed to anyone with principles!!! And with reference to the “Ragged Trousered Philanthropist” as a young man starting my pipe fitting career I was told to read this book and I did, it’s been on my bookshelf for decades!!! I am so fortunate to have worked with Real Men!!! And I will be in the club until I die!!!!! Keep the faith guys, don’t ever give up the fight!!! I have been fortunate to know some of the best trade Union shop stewards and stood alongside some real men For that I have to say “Thank you Lads”

You are blaming the old way of life (I remember when every w.m.c committee member was on the take and the working classes (My family and their freinds) took components from now closed factories to repair their T.V's (and for me and their kids to learn electronics) and bought dodgy stuff if it saved money (and got one over on the big guys). for the fall of the unions, when you could have replaced them with someone better, but you went along (by the sounds of it) with Maggie thatcher's rhetoric, which cost the minors everything. If you thought people were bent then, do you not see how much worse it is now, since Nigel Farage came along and told old jokes to get you to vote for him in elections nobody cared about, until it was too late and Tory when it mattered? Britain will never be a socialist country and nobody suggested it seriously. It's a fringe hippy movement and even Corbyn knew that.. As for only London 'elites' (Because none of the Brexit party are multimillionaires....).. It's not true.. The problem these days is that people all pretend to be middle class and they're not. When was the last time you heard of anyone with a strong local accent getting anywhere in the public sphere? Historically Parliament was full of aristocracy and that's the image they go for, calling it 'traditional' and people stupidly vote for more of the same.. Calling you stupid was rude and I apologise, because I misread some of your comment, but Labour are the only other serious competition for the Cons and the only ones who will be convinced to work for the people (Once Starmer's voted out and replaced with someone like Raynor). The current 'Brexit' (They're not really trad Tories are they?..) "Don't trust the MSM and hate the 'elites', but vote for us privately educated tabloid hacks" government is taking away everyone's rights and telling you it's a victory. The rest are largely silent in the media or working for one of the two parties behind the scenes. I don't think Labour are done with yet.. If the post Brexit/Covid19 celebrations are like post ww2 (Yes I know it's not the same, but it's the worst thing we've dealt with since and worse if you think of the way it's affected our day to day and private lives, people will be crying out to help things like the NHS, They'll want all the public facilities they've lost since the Cons started Austerity after blaming Labour and the people, for a worldwide financial crisis, caused by the very deregulation they want to try again, Billionaires and multinationals to pay more tax than we do percentage of income wise and investigations into how £33bn (last time I checked) of our tax money went to friends and donors of the Cons in under one year, whilst they fell behind on every measure.
