@@jimmybright1652 I sometimes get like that, one day I’ll pick it up and think what am I doing, other days wow where did that come from. I find when I’m relaxed things seem to flow a lot easier. Back when I started I was buying a guitar, and trying it out, the owner of the shop said to me, if you don’t relax you’ll never learn to play that guitar, and I’ve found that to be very true. So that’s the best tip I can offer you.

I'm an older gray haired dude and I used to play when I was young but I had to give it up when tendonitis stopped me. I would say that I reached a descent level of play but never knew anything at all about all of this stuff. You changed that, because I was stalling out on my progress anyway. I love the you explain stuff because it's confusing at first but you make it all clear by the end. Thank you for all that knowledge.

Whatever reward you receive for sharing is well-earned. I've been playing finger-picking acoustic for fifty years for my own enjoyment. You just showed me some things that will be fun to add to my own playing. Everyone learns differently. And everyone learns different things. That's the beauty of it. Ricky, you almost doubtlessly couldn't play anything I play, but you've taught me some rules that will improve my own playing. Kudos.

But Wow, what a difference in your approach. You a Soooo much more of a teacher than anyone ive seen !! You are really something special and we’re so lucky that you are a thinker and care to deliver. Part-2: It's interesting how content from an instructor/mentor speaking in a UK accent makes the content seem more authentic!! Because of the unique linguistic "personalities" (for lack of a better word), it would be fun to see your content in Scottish, Irish, Cockney, and AU/NZ. (with subtitles of course!)

Where is the rest of the video???? I was so interigued in this. I definitely understand the pentatonic all the way up and down the fretboard in any key and all of its subsequent postions. I just didt really think of the strings as pairs with such significant relationships. This is absolutely 🔥!

Part-2: Having said that i REALLY enjoy your content as much as JL, RS, and RB (first initials only because i don't want to redirect any viewers) My preference is for information that gives you the tools to create rather than emulate. My brain isn't wired for playing other artists music. As much as i would love to players some of my favorite songs, it isn't an option for me. However, i can remember and play songs i have written. Your content gives me the tools to FEEL music instead of MEMORIZING it. :)

I often think about the person who decided on how the fret board had to be laid out; he is the smartest of all of us, because he didn't have any books of instruction to go by, like us today, he had to figure it all out and wrote it for everyone who came after to learn from.

If the guitar has 4 voices why do we have 5 pentatonic voices, are two of them the same voice ?
@rickysguitar2 жыл бұрын
The voices blend into each other as you go up the neck. If you think about it when you repeat a box pattern higher up the dusty end of the neck you kind of have more that 5 positions...
