If you're looking at a simple method to how to BREAK OUT of the pentatonic box 1 pattern and link pentatonic shapes YOU NEED TO TRY THIS!
In this live lesson accompanied by downloadable PDF, I'll show you one of the many secrets I know for moving around the guitar fretboard with freedom.
You'll learn all about "elevator triangles" that enables you to travel between all 5 pentatonic scale boxes on guitar. The example given is in the key of a minor.

Ricky you really are a “General”! I’ve been searching the web from 10 years back and there were limited qualified, “effective” “teachers” of guitar… many well intended musicians, some over complicated methods of teaching. I’ve found some good theory people. Learned some good solid and accurate info, etc… But now finally I found Ricky recently and You have made it happen for me 3 nights ago! That magic moment when what’s in my head is finally getting out into this beautiful, amazing instrument! I’ve wanted this since I was a child and saw Fab 4 on Ed Sully! 64 years old and have too much or as I like to say , just the right time on my hands. Ricky Thank You too much! I’m sticking with you my friend. “There will be a little something extra in your Christmas envelope next year”! All right… This year! One Love

"Random Spices" - exactly! Sometimes I cook breakfast with the same basics (eggs, meat, potatoes) but different spices. Some of the results I would never torture a guest with but I learn from them. A better way to learn is to actually understand why I use the spices. I might consider a guest tasting them at that point. BTW - I like your transition from white board over to pdf - excellent move. 👍👍👍 🙂

I know this comment is late to the party but....so am I so here goes. This triangle map is fantastic thank you, but this triangle map does it link up with the grid you show in the "play chord tones in any key" video? Meaning that if you could visualize the grid as well as this wonderful triangle map you could play all of the pentatonic positions in any key AND combine chord tones as well?
@rickysguitar
@rickysguitar 2 жыл бұрын
@@towlie337 EEEEEVERYTHING links up. And to answer your question it does indeed hook up with the grid. That's another video I have yet to make :)

Fantastic cause I was away from my guitar when I watched this video and was trying to visualize the link. That grid video has been such a boost to my ability to solo and sound competent and it has elevated my practices to a level that I never thought I could reach. I record the sessions to see where I need improvement but when re watching I am impressed with the fact that I actually sound like a musician. Ha!
