Trains at Preston - 02/08/2022

Filmed on 02/08/2022. On a splendid summers evening, it is time to travel along over the West Coast Mainline Over Shap to cross from Cumbria into Lancashire. For the first time in 2 years, this is the return to Preston. (Season 9 Episode 28)
It is time for an evening rush hour trainspotting session just to see what variety there is to see. But, there are rocks thrown into the works lets say. The earlier trespasser incident at Crewe is still causing a lot of issues and very late running trains.
Avanti West Coast services are either running heavily delayed or even being terminated and turned around at earlier stations to make up for lost time. But, there is more chaos as Avanti West Coast decided change trains to continue for Scotland/London but these are last minute decisions made.
Transpennine Express are still running reduced services for the time being until December timetable changes. This did lead to trains being cancelled due to no train crew but hopefully in the future, the situation will be resolved.

I am well overdue for a trip to Preston and considering how much it has changed, it would be nice to get that in

Preston has changed in terms of more CAF units in service and in terms of freight, it can be hit or miss but the variety is still just as great. To say the least, some very odd Northern units allocated for certain diagrams (which replaced the Pacers)
