Thank you immensely! Lacking a local music scene, friends in the industry, or peers with similar passions, it's been tough to learn advanced skills from experts like you. Your generosity in sharing your knowledge is a huge help and greatly appreciated. Many of us are truly thankful for your support!

Thanks for this video Ricky. The pacing is just right and really helped me pick up some new ideas. Liked your approach with the piano and how it’s sitting just right in the mix 👌🏼

hi, when you shave off low freqs on your kick drum, you not only getting rid off unnessesurry low end, you also make low freqs sounding a bit longer in time due to significant phase shifting that 48dB\oct filter makes, so ear can identify low freqs more clearly

Gonna take my time listening to this and taking notes, and I already know I'll go back to it when I need help or a different perspective. Seriously massive video, thank you so much!

I do not need to watch the video to slam the like button. Also, finally set up Overbridge and have just finished tracking my newest jam into Ableton. Not just a loop, but I performed a full arrangement. Hope that works. It was magical to have all my synths and all Digitakt tracks as individual stems in 1 go. Knowledge Love Power Peace.

Still watching this but so far it is an excellent mixing masterclass. Thanks very much.

Thanks for continuing on from last week, I love seeing these loop to song videos - taking notes here! Have you ever tried the James Wiltshire (Freemasons) glue compressor "punchy" settings? 30 Attack, 0.1 Release, 4:1 Ratio - dial in 3-5db of gain reduction and add makeup.

When you “mute” or “gray out” your elements WHATS the short cut you’re using? (Shift+??) For they delay I don’t think I quite understand how you’re running it from your computer back into your computer… For Abelton lite users is there any work around for the EQ 8? I’m obsessed with your Abelton tutorials. And thank you for posting this. So valuable.

Dont know if it translates but I would love techniques for how to mix samples when playing live. Im using filters to manage harsh or heaviness but I really would like to use the limiting approach to improve the quality and stereo field breadth and levels.

1 question: what are ways to save your finished beats from PO-33 KO?
@RickyTinez8 ай бұрын
you gotta record them or buy another one haha! I have 2 for that reason. It's a pain tbh..
@Stummpmusic8 ай бұрын
@@RickyTinez I want to record thru my pro tools & make the songs fatter. Make them sound like studio quality beats... that's why I asked.
@Stummpmusic8 ай бұрын
So why have 2 PO--33s ? I'm just trying to record & mix my tracks, then possibly use them.

Do you really need to remove the low end though? Sure if you are doing fx that go all crazy with weird sub and bass frequencies then you are going to hear that on club volume and it is going to mess with your kick and bass, but some mid rumble on some percussion, is that really going to matter? And isn't it following the assumption that more punch/clarity is always better? If you listen back to the amazing disco tracks from last century they are so punchy, so wide, so thick, and they weren't high passing the shakers to get that, that is all arrangement and dynamics.
have you tried using logic's mastering assistant as a finishing touch? i fucking love it
@sedwords8 ай бұрын
Pythagoras is very disappointed in your choice of frequencies. I see 830hz, 177hz, 90, 4500, 120, and 958. None of these work all that well together This can cause awkward phasing at the seams
