Peace to the Mexicano Brothers! A lot of folks aren’t hip to the history that unites black and brown going back at least to the early 1800s. When Texas was northern Mexico, Mexico outlawed slavery. Many of the pro-slavery elements in Texas (who had been invited to Texas by the Mexican government so that they could provide a better life for themselves) did not support this limitation on their “freedom”. Many historians acknowledge that Mexico’s anti-slavery position was a factor in Texicans decision to revolt from Mexico. Once Texas gained its independence it legalized the institution of slavery. I’m a direct descendant of those black folks enslaved here in Texas. The early 1800s Mexican government was on the right side of humanity and history. Peace to Black and Brown!

His in-depth questioning and interviewing style fits perfectly in capturing the raw uncut truth. I like how he circles around the block with the same question if he feels the question wasn't answered the first time. I have a really good friend from Michocoan Mexico. He has very dark skin curly hair with the swag of a brother. I swear if you did not hear his accent you would think he was black just based off his presence and swag. He even said his roots have 20 percent African going to Mexico and his black side was oppressed in Mexico. Black folks loved him organically.
