Thank you very much for this usefull information. We are going to Cyprus, Paphos in August this year. Im going to have a look at your videos for recommendations.

Having only been here a few days, a few things that we, as Americans, should have researched first / been aware of are: 1) driving is on the left side of the road; 2) electrical outlets are different than European and American outlets; 3) the water - in Larnaca at least - is VERY hard and full of minerals, so stay near a kiosk or grocery store to get bottled drinking water; 4) toilet paper does not go into the toilets, so keep that in mind; and 5) electricity is very expensive on the island so be cognizant of power usage. Not sure if some of these “tips” only apply to Larnaca, but we will find out if the same holds true in Limassol and Paphos once we venture that way later this week!
@healthandharmony Жыл бұрын
Most of that applies generally to southern Europe. I don't know why you wouldn't look into it before you arrive, at least the driving!
@velourialamour Жыл бұрын
@@healthandharmony I just came from southern Europe actually :) I was just commenting on Rico’s video about the diving bit since his vid didn’t mention left side of the road. And, since I just came from Europe, and Cyprus is in Europe, I had no idea that the outlets were different! Even Turkey has standard European outlets, so it came to quite a surprise that Cyprus had different outlets. Furthermore, the only place I encountered not-flushing-toilet paper has been Mexico, so just another thing I found curious about Cyprus that would make for great KZbin video content.

Very on-point tips, Velouria!! For "historic" reasons, we have UK outlets in Cyprus. As for the water, it is pretty much hard all over the island, apart from the mountainous areas. They have beautiful water up there!!

@@bluepen3326 just some curiosities we found coming from Portugal 🙃 and as soon as we get a road back, we will rent a car and explore the mountains! Currently in Paphos and literally the main road by our Airbnb has been ripped out. Couldn’t even leave the parking lot if we had a car 😱

My personal opinion about Cyprus: 1. Don't expect a true European experience (on paper, yes, but in reality, no!) 🙅♂️ 2. Forget about making or saving money here! 🚫💰 3. Working here won't give you a good lifestyle - they expect you to work day and night for peanuts! 😤 4. A better future for your kids? Forget it! Cypriots won't let foreigners work in government, banks, or other top jobs. 🙅♂️💼 5. Time has no meaning here. Waiting two months could mean waiting two years! ⌛️🤷♂️ 6. Don't expect quick answers over the phone. You'll talk to 20 people and still not get anywhere! 📞🤯 But hey, there are some good things too: - If you're loaded, you can live well. 💸😎 - Evenings are amazing! 🌃✨ - The food is delicious! 😋 - The weather is fantastic for most of the year! ☀️😎

There are many people who smoke tobacco in Cyprus ,much more than in Western Europe, all neigbours would smoke cigarettes. There are also many bad roads even in touristic places like Ayia Napa, ,no sidewalks ,cypriots are dependant on the car very much , also there are a lot of old cars which pollute the air ,they should be forbidden.
