@@photostuff since you have both GRIII & GRIIIx, i would really love to see a short video on portraits, especially the IIIx with 40mm plus the built-in 50mm and 71mm crops at F2.8. Wanted to see how much background blur it produces, so I can replace my other camera with IIIx for casual portraits. ** I m not no pro, just an everyday person shooting jpegs…. Thanks

Another tip , while the camera is off you can hold the play button to turn on the camera and view your previous shot. Pressing the video bottom on the side viewing an image, will also bring up other editing options for JPG as well for RAW

What an interesting video. Is there an option to shoot in RAW files with no filters applied? Thank you for making this video
@photostuff6 ай бұрын
Hi, the filters are never applied to RAW files, but inside a RAW file, there is an embedded thumbnail that includes the filter you are using. If you want a look closest to the raw file, just shoot with the Standard profile.

Do you know of any software that can simulate the Ricoh image control settings? I also shoot Fujifilm, and both Lightroom and Capture One can apply the different filters to RAW files. I would prefer to shoot RAW and then select the Image control on my computer.

No I don't of any software that can correctly simulate the Ricoh profiles, although plenty of people will try to sell you lightroom presets :) I shoot RAW + jpeg but i do most of my edits in the Ricoh and it's the jpeg i usually end up making prints from.

@@photostuff I looked into this further and found a company that makes excellent profiles. I made this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn21gZWKqbyaqK8

Helpful video - thanks. Where did you buy your Thumbs Up hot shoe “grip”?
@photostuff3 жыл бұрын
I got it free with my second Ricoh GRiii that I bought used.

I got mine from Amazon. They're JJC TA-GR3 (work on both GR3 and 3x), and reasonably priced. I find it useful.

Once I develop the RAW, it’s saves as the edited JPEG? So then do I lose the RAW file?
@photostuff Жыл бұрын
No, you still have the raw file.

I posted my comments having watched only 50% of the video…having seen the rest, I wanted you to know how very helpful this has been - the post in camera editing options are amazing. Do you still plan to do a video comparing the depth of field difference between the GRiii and the GRiiiX? - Thanks - Peter.

Thank you Peter. I've already done a lens/DoF comparison video, using a free website. Here's the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpbbYpyopdimpqc
