"It's like a game" is exactly how I feel about it too. 😎 The way I think about it is 35-55mm is my personal perspective. So I use an EVF at my eyeline, and easily capture great images because it captures what I saw almost exactly. It's hard not to be happy with what caught my eye. 28mm and wider is about getting an ideal perspective. In this way it feels more like being a director than a photographer. I have to work for the shot a bit more to capture a scene in the best way I can. For this reason I don't use any EVF, because rarely is my eyeline the optimun angle of view for the context and story of a space. Plus, it lets me use the LCD like frame lines, I can see what's coming around the camera on all sides and better plan the camera's perspective in any moment. This was hard to understand for me at first, because I was so used to shooting subject that I had never really learned to visualise scene.

Nice shots! I really like your compositions - central point, symmetry. In high-contrast situations, are you using highlight priority metering or multi-segment with further adjustments in Lr? Also, don't you feel like electronic level sometimes slows you down too much? I turned mine off, but now - there's a lot of cropping and correcting angles in post! ;)

Hey. I have a question. I have ever since being very young enjoyed photography, like 10 years ago I stopped taking photos after getting the Nikon D7000 with several lenses because I really hated the idea of carrying the camera and gear everywhere and it just lost the "magic". Recently, I have been wanting to get back into photography but I really dont want a DSLR or big camera. I have been thinking of maybe getting the new iPhone 15 pro when it comes out as an option because from what I see the phone can get very good pics shooting in RAW. However, I recently stumbled upon your videos and have been also considering the ricoh as an option. What do you think is better? Thank you in advance I appreciate it
@adriensanguinetti Жыл бұрын
A smartphone, regardless of how good they are in taking photographs will never offer the same experience as shooting with a proper camera. I love the photos taken on my iPhone but I hate the ergonomics of shooting with it. Simply for that cameras will always be there and won't be replaced by smartphone I think
@charliipresley3 ай бұрын
@@adriensanguinettiI agree. And the iPhone small sensor … great light you can get nice photos (I use the Lightroom camera app for real DNGs) but loose light and the quality drops quick

It’s going to be a hit and miss. I had GRII few years ago, bought and sold 3x times. The camera is really lovely to use. Sharp images, great colour. But I just hate the one focal length. If you prefer to use more than one focal length, skip this. Otherwise it’s really a lovely camera to use. It’s just so good and easy to use.

This is something I was contemplating, especially having seen some rumours and the official Ricoh channel video. Then I read a lot of other comments that said "don't wait, just buy a GRiii and start shooting." So that's what I have done - it arrives today 😊. I'm still very keen to see what a GRiv will look like, but for now, I'll practice on the GRiii until that day comes.

Hi. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree, thd griii just pulls me back and is my most used camera. Personally I love the ergonomics and ease of controls. And yes, image quality is just astounding. I tend to usd the widd adaptor alot and love it for architectural shots. Out of interest, have you ever used any of the sony rx100 range? I have one and always feel guilty for not using it more on travel for its versatility, but I just dont seem to connect with it like I do my griii. I know everyone is different, but as you are a pro photographer, I would value you'd input, thoughts and reasons, like or not?
@adriensanguinetti Жыл бұрын
A loooong time ago I used one but would like to give it a shoot one day. Especially that I am moving away from playing to much with the bokeh so I would be happy with a smaller sensor I guess

@@adriensanguinettiit's curiously unengaging to use. I used the mkii for 8 years, got lots of use from it (I actually sold all my other kit, because the RX could do it all!) and took it all over the world. But it always felt like a gadget, and sometimes too small to be comfortable. Sold it at a good price and bought the smallest M4/3 Lumix - which I love 💕 Much nicer to use, hold and experiment with. Three good lenses and completely re-inspired to travel and shoot. The RX took great quality photos but was never fun to use.

I noticed that too. I know myself and would choose not to do that. I am a klutz and would fear for the health of the body. Really enjoyed the selection of music for this video. Especially the guitar for the 1st part of the video. I usually enjoy Adrien’s work when he rocks his Leica gear. For me there weren’t enough people on the street and I would have moved on. The shopping area was too dark for me and that is reflected in the images shown. When I go for a walk with my camera some times I win and sometimes I loose with the images I create. Mostly I loose. Unlike when shooting film, where every time I press the shutter it costs $1 or more, digital images are cost free until I print one of the few images I like. I can come home with 500+ images and like only ~ five images. I am rewarded for taking multiple image and I do. Have just purchased a GRiii. Setting it up and will hit the road with it soon. I use my EVF a lot so there will be a period of getting use to just using the rear LCD. I may buy a cheap dumb plastic view finder from China in the end. Thank you for the video.
