I'm gonna go with the 1st method. Thank you for that wonderful videos. it really helps a lot. It's because up to this day I'm still struggling to make two layer htv vinyl.
@flyingcat2054 Жыл бұрын
I’d go with the first method. The stickiness of the 2nd example would surely make wrinkles and bubbles for me!

I have high tack, medium tack transfer sheets. Neither one works well for holding the weeded vinyl as the HTV backing sheet has a stronger stickiness than the transfer sheet. I pressed, scraped, rubbed both sides and no love. The vinyl won't come off its clear backing sheet. Can't figure out an easy way to do method 2.
@ricomatvАй бұрын
You may want to try a transfer tape that has a slightly higher tack.

@@ricomatv Appreciate your reply. However, my transfer sheet already is labeled 'high tack' as I mentioned in my original comment. How am I to know which 'high tack' transfer sheet is more tack than the other?

I like the dirst method, but definitely interested intrying the second method, however, are you using regular transfer vinyl to remove the htv from its carrier? I did not know you could use it with an iron or heat press?
@ricomatv7 күн бұрын
Hi Cheryl! Glad to hear that you enjoy this video. Regular transfer vinyl is not designed to be removed from its carrier and applied with an iron or heat press like heat transfer vinyl.

Thanks for the love! We used the Luminaris 200 Simply-Peel Media Step A & B Transfer Paper (100 sheets of each step A & B) shop.ricoma.com/products/luminaris-200-simply-peel-media-step-a-b-transfer-paper-100-sheets-of-each-step-a-b?_pos=1&_sid=c4a8fc1fa&_ss=r

Am I missing something (I am new to this craft) but by putting both on to transfer tape aren't you essentially flipping the HTV so that the adhesive layer is then the wrong way up??
@ricomatv Жыл бұрын
Hi Kay! That is one way of doing it and the video showed an alternate version!
@kaymitchell6445 Жыл бұрын
@@ricomatv but still, I don’t see how the second option would work as the adhesive side on one layer will be facing the wrong way so won’t stick when pressing?

@@kaymitchell6445 there are 3 sheets, 1st layer, transfer sheet, and 2nd layer. Move the vinyl from 1st layer to the transfer sheet then move the vinyl on the transfer sheet to the 2nd layer. When he moves the vinyl from the transfer sheet to the 2nd layer, the image flips back to the correct way (mirrored). You’re thinking that he moved both layers to the transfer sheet.

How did you make the font cut outs?
@ricomatv9 ай бұрын
We used Signmaster software to make them. The design was created in illustrator.

Is the final decal on the transfer tape? Or was it re-applied to the original backing? ty

Thank you! I tried the second method and had an awful time moving the htv back to the original sheet. I spent an hour and ultimately ruined the project.@@ricomatv

How long do you press the second transfer in the first method? Since you are pressing the first design twice while transfering the second/blue design..?
@wigm2 жыл бұрын
They way i've done it is press the first design for a few seconds, just long enough to stick, depending on the brand of vinyl it can be just 5 seconds. Then with the the second design press the whole thing for the full time needed.

You failed to talk about mirroring the images. On the first method you should use it and on the second one you shouldn't.

Andrew mentions Mirroring the design on 2:56 minute incase you missed it. Mirroring is then then on all other cuts. HTV is always cut in mirror. Thanks for watching
