were new to the ATV trails and are still trying to figure it all out. How on earth do you all know where to go, turn, what trails there are and so fourth. We just got our SSRT membership and have no idea where trails start, end and how to even get to them.
@jhoffman8110 ай бұрын
Download the ride command app from Polaris, it's free. SSRT is community mapped. As you meet people in the area ask them to send you a link to a ride command map of community trails not shown. Lots of other trails in this area are open outside hunting season on private ground as long as you stay on designated trails. SSRT and other big areas like rock run the map is already there, same for whiskey springs, bloody skillet. You can view ride command also on your regular computer to plan trips. Hope that helps

Great video do you happen to know if crossing the river under the RT 80 underpass if the trail is open to head down to Wilburn to visit Jackson’s? We’re staying along the SSRT by the gilentown trailhead and am hoping to cross over the river and keep going. The polaris ride command app shows it’s open but you never know with the apps! Thanks!
@jhoffman815 ай бұрын
Yeah it's open. When you get to black bear you'll run the road to Jackson's. It's all trail from i80 till you hit pavement. Then follow the paved road. There's another bar on the way to Jackson's too that has a pool table called the Avondale. Worth a stop too.
@slawdogshenanigans5 ай бұрын
@@jhoffman81 awesome thanks for the reply! Assuming the polaris ride command will show these routes. Seems pretty easy! Maybe someday we run into each other on the trails 👍🏻😊
@jhoffman815 ай бұрын
@slawdogshenanigans ride command will show you to black bear but not likely Jackson's. When you hit the pavement at Cassenova Rd stay on it and stay right at every intersection. You'll hit the Avondale first. Stay right around the big turn go about another mile and you'll hit Jackson's. If you're ever out and see me say hi. Ive never seen another black maverick sport four seater in this area fully enclosed.

Where is the restaurant you stopped at? Can you get gas in phillipsburg ?
@jhoffman816 ай бұрын
The restaurant is called Jacksons. I believe I linked it in the description. You can get gas in Philpsburg at the unimart, you can ride right too it. Jacksons has the best wings in that area. Try the deep fried pickles too. maps.app.goo.gl/z5YKPfyjAziVUtqKA

Where is the scary bridge? Is it on the bloody skillet side ?

It's on the Philpsburg side, between black bear and ssrt elk lot on the side trail. Rails to Trails runs the actual road. Need a pin?

@@jhoffman81 sure I'll take the pin. I want to explore that side after viewing your video.

@mark swope in the video when the general is crossing under i80, the other side has a trail up to the train tunnel now. From there to snow shoe is another good 20 mins. Past that to bloody skillet is the section I'm unsure. Elks to where we turned around is a good 1.5 hours. To go the whole way to bloody and back I'd wanna leave early. I'm guessing it would take quite awhile. Maybe someone else will let us know.

I’ve heard of people riding from Ramey to bloody skillet that would be fun if I knew the trails.
@jhoffman812 жыл бұрын
@@ChevyLtr450 I talked to the president of rails the other day when I got my new membership. We concluded it would be 4-6 hours of one way steady riding from Elks to Bloody. If you ever decide to try it id leave early in the day. I cant think of too many places to get gas either, so consider that.
@aaronkline4467 Жыл бұрын
So it's legal to get from philipsburg to snow shoe now? Last I heard anything it was a gray area around the viaduct but not sure if that ever changed
@jhoffman81 Жыл бұрын
Yep, the crossing below the i80 bridge leads to a trail that goes up over. It was made possible by a hunting lease working with rails to trails. When you cross go left and follow the creek, you'll go right up onto the main trail.

Would it be sketchy to cross the river next weekend with dual sport motorcycles?
@jhoffman81 Жыл бұрын
I think you'll be perfectly fine. We haven't gotten a ton of rain and they're not calling for any either. As long as you're comfortable on a bike. You'll be able to tell on the downstream side of the pillars where it's shallow. The water is crystal clear.

@@jhoffman81 thanks. Coming from Ontario to ride the PA wilds Brdx and want to make a little detour to see the tunnel. I was asking someone from ssrt if we could by passes for bikes which we are allowed to to but he wouldn’t comment on the river crossing so of assumed it was a bit risky.

@@drewneven2088 wow that's definitely an adventure! Hope you enjoy it! There's another video of mine on here where we come from Gillentown. If you come in that direction you don't cross the creek to get to the tunnel.
