Solid roof and black interior is a plus, but with the 403 engine this car was only selling for around $22k-$35k even when prices were sky high a couple of years ago. You need a 4-speed 400 to hit $50k, or even $40k.

I have collected transams since my first one in 78, this car is the olds 6.6 but mint and they range from 35k to 100k depending on day and where its sold. The 400 4speed cars bring 35k to over 100 k too, so its subjective to who likes what And trying to find an original car. I was spoiled for years buying them under 10 till early 2000s now you have to pay. Everything is crazy now, but they sell and people are buying.. cheers..

By the wide lip wheels it seems to be a WS6 car, but I need the poncho motor with 4 speed and T-Tops! I prefer the velor interior also. Way too much money for that car though, maybe $ 35,000.

The car looks immaculate, the problem is, a 1979 probably has 130 hp. But it looks great!

An investment quality collectible car but the bar was set pretty low in 79. An automatic that probably put out 130 hp. A far cry from the late 60's muscle cars that are collectible for a reason.

Factory rated at 180 HP. Can easily be modded to make 300 HP.

The car is now around $43K, according to the sellers. It is a beautiful car. However, you will still have update/upgrade the shocks and replace the front and rear sway bars using polyurethane bushings. The brakes (rotors, pads, and calipers if it has 4 wheel discs-WS 6 Performance Pkg.) have to be replaced as well. Engine fluids, hoses, and belts will definitely have to be replaced. Even though this TransAm is under 8K miles, it's still a 45 year old car.

53,999...Includes moldy sunvisor....7000 mile cars don't have mold on them...Seems like everyone in the comments didn't catch that..I did...Owning one for 37 years...I just call it like I see it

Mold has nothing to do with miles. You store one in a hot and humid garage especially in the south and you can get mold very quickly.

It’s a trailer queen….. nobody in their right mind would want to drive that other than to show….. museum quality. $53,000 asking is not crazy money but I doubt it would bring that accept for at a auto auction like Mecum with a reserve of around that.

Nice car, but it has the ugly base interior same as camaro seat & door panels. No T-Tops. 403 with 2.41 or 2.56 rear. It is a WS6 car which is a good thing. Price is high. Miles cannot really be documented. The speedocable unhooks without tools, very easily. And there was no computer tracking of mileage until around 20 years ago. Not bashing the car. It is nice but it needs some work. Like the rear spoiler ends need to be re-painted to match (common issue) because they are plastic. I don't see it even getting 35. But who knows
