Just a recommendation with dump trailer door/gates. Have grandpa straighten the door, then have him weld some short chains on the gates to help lock when hauling but also can be used to help secure gates when dumping loads. I know I have had friends borrow my trailer and tear my gate/doors off. If you want I can send pics of what I did. Solved my problems!! Have a great weekend and enjoy seeing your family

Handling and stacking is the most work. A suggestion for you. Look how brick are bundled, then stack and strap the firewood the same way. Use a brick dolley or forklift to move wood around. It works.

Cool video ladies. I like your bracelet and necklace Jade. My wife has been making two and three wrap memory wire bracelets lately and they are pretty cool as they have no clasps. She makes them to fit her wrist with a bit of wiggle room, they just pop on and off very easily but won't fall off. Nice backing job Emerald, much better than I can do. Have a wonderful weekend all.

you have the seat belt in the lower position, raise it up, the closer the neck it sits the safer it is, if you have it too low then the risk is that it slides off your shoulder during an accident, and then it can hurt you instead

I drove team on a semi-tractor trailer truck for a while. At a delivery, the person riding shotgun always got out, and watched the blind side, stood where the driver could see them, and was in charge of opening the doors before backing in between things. During driver training, I got told both hands are on the wheel. You have a responsibility towing that trailer not to injure anyone with it in a crash. I just yesterday watched the video with your father telling the story about soul searching standing in front of his skidder. He is so proud of his family and his people. Drivers sip coffee at red lights. OHH I want to see a video of that skidder at work. It is an incredible machine.

I drove a truck for 8 years solo with no gps or cell phone. I guess I was lucky when it came to backing a truck up. It just came natural to me. I have even helped a couple drivers back their trucks up in a hard to get to unloading docks. As someone from a very small town my first load east of Nashville was New York City. I was nervous and I guess that’s how I got good at backing. You can get into some tight spots up there especially with most people driving around like they are all 30 minutes late but it will make you a good driver if you don’t quit like some drivers did. I almost got a ticket in Manhattan for triple parking for just a few minutes but he let me go. He couldn’t believe it. Old memories. I don’t think I could do it now.

some times, a hitch receiver on the front of the truck, makes maneuvering a trailer into a difficult location, quite a bit easier. down side is having to chock the trailer, disconnect, reconnect, and repeat again to tow back on the road.

All that stress Emerald and everything turned out just fine. Next time Emerald, just take a deep breath and tell yourself, this is just a walk in the park.
