I rode one. Like it. Comfy. It is a twin that does not like chugging. Change into 3rd at approx 50 MPH / 80 KPH, not before or it shakes as it does not like the really low RPM's. Need about 70 - 75 MPH / 120 KPH before using 5 gear. Super smooth once I remembered to rev it a bit. Liked it because it has plenty of usable power and is a tad shorter & less weight and size than the M109. Viking Overlord Quick-detachable bags work 100% and match the rear section's contours/shape. I imagine replacing the front rubber brake lines with nice black (or colour of your choice) braided lines would firm up the brake feel and performance. I found 2 fingers on the front brake was all I needed & since it is a long heavy cruiser of course applying the rear brake a bit at the same time is what is needed unlike sport-bikes where the front is all that is usually required. I know someone with a black one and many, many people comment about how they really like it. Harley riders stare (in the parking lots and on the HWY's as we pass each other as it may be) as it takes them until their eyes get to the gas tank and read Boulevard before they can figure out what the heck brand of bike it is. Some also say it looks like a bike from the TV show "Sons of Anarchy." LOL

Hey Rabid.... I bought my 2013 M90 new. I've got 35k miles on her with absolutely no mech or trim problems, servicing at maufac recommended intervals. She was a little too quiet for my taste, I looked at after market exhaust, but they were way expensive. I did some research and discovered that if you drill 6 evenly spaced holes(1/2 inch) in the back plate around the exhaust hole on both tubes, you get a very "snarly" beautiful tone, but it won't piss off the neighbors. I live in a 55+ community, and my neighbors actually compliment me on the beautiful, powerful tone of the exhaust. Quiet when your easy on the gas, but roars when you let her loose.She likes the higher RPM's. You can't lug her like a Harley. She's extremely responsive in the mid to high RPM range. Fuel mileage is about 40MPG. She handles very well at low and high speed. In lazy curves at 40 MPH+, very stable and solid. At higher speeds, dip in to the curve, but keep your acceleration rate slightly positive to shift your center of gravity to the rear. very important. There are very few M90's on the road, and everywhere I go, riders comment positively on her sleek and clean lines. I keep a battery maintainer on her at all times when not riding. This will keep your electronics(including your electronic fuel injection system) healthy. You can pick one up for twenty bucks. Excellent investment. Check your tire pressure at least once per week. I like 36lbs front, 42lbs rear, and I ride solo. She is very sensitive to tire pressure concerning handling. This is a rider's bike. She handles well with two rider's, but she prefers one. My wife is not offended. My wife is an avid fisherman, and we ride together on very few occasions. What else can I tell you? Oh, The M90, with her 9.5/1 compression LOVES NON-ETHENOL FUEL,90 octane. I know it's slightly dear, but it's worth the extra pennies per gallon. Ride proud, ride safe, and stay within the limit of your riding expertise. Your M90 will take care of you! Please let me know if this info helps! litltoosee

@litltoosee2 жыл бұрын
@@FluxCapacitardo Hi Bo. The only modification I have made on my 2013 Suzuki M90 is to the twin tail Pipes. I used a 1/4 inch all purpose Kobalt drill bit and drilled 6 holes in each of the tail pipe end plates at 12, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 o'clock, picturing the end plate like a clock face with 12 at 0 degrees, and 6 at 180 degrees, circumferically. I choose 1/4 inch holes( I know, you might think that's too small, but..)because I live in an 55+ community, and I didn't want to blow my neighbors out of bed when I rode out on early morning rides, or rode in late at night. also, I wanted to maintain as much exhaust back pressure as possible, so I didn't disturb the bike's brain, but still get a little more crack and rumble. I have had no issues with fuel consumption, backfiring or timing with this modification, and this adjustment gave me exactly what I was after: A little more volume. I did NOT remove the baffles, as many youtube vids will suggest. I have 40k miles on my Sweeti, and she continues to be the finest ride I've ever had, If your 2019 is brand new, you will experience a lot of vibration! After a few thousand miles, this will diminish, but, it is a vtwin, and vibration is inherent. As far as maintainance is concerned, just follow your owners manual, especially your cooling system. You made a smart choice with your new M90. Respect her power, and she will keep you safe.

I have owned 25+ bikes in past 19 yrs or so & I LOVE the M90, which I've owned for about 5 yrs (got a 2013 w/250 miles on it in '15 for under $7 G's at local motorsports dealer, brand new bike basically). It has amazing power even coming from my previous bike, a CBR1000. I don't know what people are talking about when they say it rides rough or bumpy...? Mine is smooth as butter in 5th gear or 2nd gear at 35 mph all day. Maybe rough compared to... a Gold Wing, or an Electra Glide? The ONLY thing that I did on it, early, too, was an Automatic Timing Retard Eliminator a.k.a. ATRE. $50 and 2 minute 'plug and play' install, really makes shifting smoothe and releases even more power in the lower gears. Makes 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd shift really smoothly, compared to stock. Maybe that's the difference? Great video. The M90 will scream and if you're good rider, you can keep up w the 600 sportbikes lol oh, and mine brakes totally adequately, especially for pushing about 900 some lbs with me at 6'3, 200 lbs, on it 😆 If you're coming from a sport-bike and want a cruiser, this is one of the VERY FEW that will keep you satisfied.

@@bob10tn sorry for late reply, Bob. It's literally plug and play, takes 15 minutes, and is completely safe (doesn't change your tune). Anybody can do this one! Suzuki motorcycles have a different ignition map for each gear. In the lower gears, the ignition timing is retarded for no practical reason. The atre sends a fixed fourth gear signal to the bikes ECU eliminating the retarded timing map, creating a more responsive throttle with smoother, faster acceleration and more power in the lower gears. Everything you said during ride is exactly what I felt while test riding it. The only thing that may be missing is maybe that rear brake feels stronger than the front one. That may be a good thing though. I can only imagine crap hard hitting front brakes on this 700+lbs behemoth on wet road. I mean, they work but, they are so soft it almost feels like they don't. My biggest concern was how it would work on steep downhill. The engine brake is fantastic though I and I pretty much relied on brakes mostly for stopping.

Human, I don't know. Bikes lose so much value right off the lot that I'm having hard time justifying any major upgrades. Even small ones unless necessary. My line of thought is that design engineers made certain decisions for reason. Yeah, some are style for non critical parts but, I would be hesitant to mess with brakes as they are the most important piece of machine. It is all about adjusting riding style to machine, not the the other way around. If you need later, better pick different machine.

The M90 seems like a good balance though of power, comfort, and maneuverability. As a caveman, it's hard not to just be bullheaded and want the bigger badder M109. Maybe this is a good choice. I mean... coming from a 750, maybe the 1800cc is too much lol. Also hear the M109 perhaps has some transmission issues. I don't really want to upgrade again, at least not for a very long time. And that would be my only concern with this M90, allthough from what I can see it seems to be plenty of powerful to where an upgrade might not be needed. I'm sure you can get even more performance out of it with an exhaust, air filter, and a power commander or something.... although, living in California that is all illegal and most sites wont even ship to my address.

I'm not very new, but still kinda new, been riding for about a year on a Shadow 750. Was originally looking at the M109, but then stumbled across this M90. The maneuverability and weight of the M109 do concern me a bit though. I think this M90 is maybe a good trade off. It's still really fast but should handle much better, with the smaller, but still large back tire.

Debating between this, the m109 and HD Fatboy 2018. I had the m50 and it felt gutless and generally cheap with all the plastic. It was an okay starter bike but something about it made it never feel like what I was hoping a cruiser would feel like. Hey man I was looking at Suzuki M90 or Indian Scout. You have reviewed/rode both of them so I am interested in your opinion. I used to have a Yamaha R6, so I'm used to fast, I sold that a long time ago. I now have a honda shadow 750, it really comfortable but way to slow. My riding is mostly around town, but I want something that can easily handle 30-1 hr highway rides. I want something comfortable and smooth, I like looking in the mirrors lol. What do you suggest?
@RabidHedgehog6 жыл бұрын
Brandon D the Scout is the smoother and faster bike but the m90 is the plush and comfy bike. The Scout suffers from some short rear suspension travel while the m90 has the better suspension but the engine shakes rattles and rolls. This is where preference comes in as if you're looking for the faster of the two and the sportier the Scout hands down. But the leisure ride is the m90.
@oknevals6 жыл бұрын
Couple of weeks ago, I test rode Scout and M90 pretty much back to back. When it comes to engine feel, M90 had stronger initial torque/pull. It can get you to really high speed in the first gear. Scout is also very strong in 1st, but far more reasonable. Like the hedgehog said, with M90 you stay pretty much in first three gears. Scout responds great in all gears and there is no uncomfortable vibration at 70-80mph in 4th and 5th. You do also have 6th for easy ride. Scout is far more nimble and effortlessly zig-zags in small space unlike M90 that is little lazier to turn. Breaks on Scout are great. As for riding comfort, I found Scout seat very hard and uncomfortable. Rear suspension almost non existent. My butt pretty much absorbed any roughness on freshly laid black top. Can't even imagine rough surface. I was also little stretched out (with my 5'10" and 190lbs) M90 on the other hand felt good underneath ass. Both seat and suspension felt much better. Handle bars felt little wide and little too much after while. If the price was same, I think I would like Indian better for its looks, responsiveness and agility but, I would have to do something about seat at least. Maybe even get kit to bring pegs closer. (Bobber has pegs closer but stretches you more.) $14k on the road for either one is way too much in my humble opinion. Seems to be easier to get deal for half of that for M90 with low mileage. M90 would be a temporary toy for me. As for Indian, I would like to keep one in stable but again, not for the full price.
@brandond28686 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rabid Hedgehog, so Scout is smooth bike but bumpy ride, while the m90 shaky but soft ride lol. Well one think I would add is I am a smaller guy, 5,9 170lbs. So I am leading towards the smaller, lighter, none shaky scout.
@brandond28686 жыл бұрын
oknevals thanks so much more the comment. I am a smaller guy 5,9 170lb, so I kind of like the scout since is seems a bit smaller of a bike. Maybe put a better seat on it though, and find one used.

That is a great plan. I will say the stock Scout seat on the original version is better than the seat on the Bobber variant, but they are a bit hard vs that very plush M90.
