I own a 2nd Gen Vmax and a 2022 Triumph Rocket 3. I can agree that this list is in the right order. Finally a list of muscle cruisers done right. Yam I don't think you can handle a 2nd Gen Vmax.

I'm surprised to not see a V65 Honda Magna on this list. They were doing 11 second 1/4's back in the 90's, and the only cruiser that even had a shot against a Vmax.

Im actually bout done resurrecting a 97 magna, guy running from the police knocked me off the road on it, my first wreck, should b fully back on the road within the week. Got a 97 mag, 2007 vmax, and 2018 vmax, jus need an old v65 to finish it off haha

@@ultrarider6127that was the v65, and the vmax did 10.3 by Jay PeeWee gleason, same guy that set the record for the v65 magna, so id say the max is decidedly faster wen u literally had the same guy make these bikes famous. Truth is they are both in the 11s for regular people that arent 140lbs soaking wet with gear and an absolute monster at the track, so much soo that yamaha and honda paid this man to make their bikes the hot rods we know and love.

I agree the VTX1800 I own makes 100hp to the backwheel. It should make this list easy. I guess he didn't know about any of the best Honda Heavyweight Performance Cruisers. He missed the mark big time Yammie Noob. I remember the Honda Magna. That was a very nice and powerful bike.

My dad has a vmax and that thing is freaking fast!!! I wouldn't dare swing my leg over it yet. Still on my Svart 401. Also sometimes hard to go riding with him cause I have to peg the rev limiter and bang gears just to keep up with him at 1/4 throttle.

Only lost one race, it was to a Vrod, I didn’t know what I was racing. I knew better than to mess with a Vmax. Ride safe and often young man.

Missed opportunity to list the XDiavel instead Diavel. XDiavel looks more like a cruiser and not a fat Monster. Completely different chassis and ride height, comes with feet forward pegs too.

Yes, yes, I'm not a cruiser person but when Ducati was giving a free ride tour my wife talked me into trying one. Holy crap was it exciting the Xdiavel S had goosebumps down my arms afterwards. My wife just looked at me and smiled six weeks later we ordered two one for her and one for me. Now we're always on them every time we get a chance that bike religated our V4S and V4R to track bikes. Because of the riding position we can ride all day, love that bike.

I think in the real world the vmax would come out on top stock for stock. The Rocket might be able to keep up with it till like 50-70 but I think the vmax would start walking away around then.

Your whish has been granted! In 3 side by side 1/4 miles the VMAX 10.5 the Rock 11.9, not even close! The interesting thing is the VMAX does 0-60 in 2.5 and rock advertises a 2.73. Supposedly the VMAX gen 2 puts out 165 hp at the rear wheel. My gen 1 Vmax has been tested at 138hp to the real wheel. Given that the gen 1(630lb) is 53 pounds less the gen 2 (683lb) should stay right with the gen 2 in the 1/4 mile and 0-60! ( Rock 710lb) Note: weights are wet!

The XDiavel is faster off the line than the Diavel. It has forward controls and is still in production, and it’s not only quickest from 0-60, it’s fast fast through twisty roads too.

One of my favorite comic book series (Joe Bar Team) is centered around a bike gang in Paris from the late 70's 'till '10 and one of the characters is a short dude with a nickname 'the gnome' who drives a 80's V-Max in the beginning but later traded it in for the new model... ofcourse it's so big, he can hardly handle it and it always tends to top over on hi and then he has to wrok hard to get it back up..

I currently own a gen 2 Vmax (with the heavier front rim) and a gen 1 Valkyrie, and they are absolute beast! Great at low speeds too, but when you wanna get it on, they're on. Got some after market exhaust on both so they sound how they feel.

I own both the 3R Rocket and the Gen 2 Vmax. Love both of them as they are very different. The Vmax is a blast but, the Rocket is a better ride and handles much better in the turns. I would much rather the Rocket as my day 2 day ride. The Vmax sounds better stock but I have changed out the Rockets exhaust for the UK made Patriot and it now sounds like a Spitfire when pushed into a dive....bliss....

You are mistaken about the vrod night rod, the VRSCSE2 vrod screaming eagle 2006 , came out before the night rod and it has the 1250 cc 125 horsepower engine, and absolutely better looking than the night rod, with chrome everywhere and very unique colors

V65 Magnum had one loved it wish I didn't get rid of it. For you people that don't know it's basically what Yamaha copied to come up with their VMAX. If I remember right mine was an 84 or maybe 82 but I know it's spect out at 126 horsepower way back then.

You left out the 2003 Yamaha Warrior 1700c.c. 102 c.i. stage four ram air with Vance and Hines two into one megaphone exhaust making 120h.p. & 110 ft. lbs torque, ripping the 190x17 Metzler off every other week. Inverted front forks, aluminum frame, aluminum wheels, & sculpted tins. With a three revolution per shift of the rear wheel! This bike rocked!!!

2015 diavel carbon does 0-60 mph at 2.5 secs according to specs and weighs about 450 lbs wet So if you take that into account then it is on the top of the list

All the power jokes aside, I hear the V-Max is super comfortable. Combine that with that engine and OMG it's a shaft drive (how can that be fast?!...lol). They're even hard to find used, but the ones I've seen most riders don't really mod them to a crazy extent. As far as bikes go it's really not that intimidating until you try to test your bravery. RIP V-Max

Tons of h.p. and torque on a non sport chassis is pretty radical! I ride a gsxs 750 naked, love it! I'm 68 and have been riding 52 yrs. I love all bikes, the 750 is enough for me and i have had more radical bikes, getting too diminished to bug out with you guys... Haaaaaa!

This list doesn't include the first muscle cruiser the old Kawasaki eliminators the ZL900 or the ZL1000 faster then all 0-60 time wise. Most will over take it in a 1/4 mile but that's a limitation of it's time

If you ever have an opportunity to ride a VMax, take it. I've owned or ridden many different bikes, my VMax was the best. Nothing else came close. Other bikes had qualities I enjoyed, but Max was in its own league. Not a good pick for long rides -- small tank and short range, plus your butt goes nerve dead in about an hour -- but marvelous for cruising. You know you're sitting on something ferocious, even before you start the engine. Mine was a '95 (1st gen) with the smaller engine, but it was still a beast. The newer 2nd gen bikes had to be incredible. Hey, if it's good enough for the Ghost Rider...

HELL YES RIDE A VMAX!!!! I have a Suzuki Madura that I've done done fancy wiz bang stuff to and made it 115whp. Not saying that's great but on a 560lb bike that came factory rated at 80whp I think it's a pretty good improvement. I haven't gotten to swing a leg over the VMAX yet.....but idk if I want to. It may be one of those things that makes me immediately sell my bike and go buy one lol

Definitely should have slipped the Honda magna in there, at least as an honorable mention. The 1100 was doin low 3 second 0-60s in the 80s, and high 10 low 11s in the 1/4 mile. Hell the 750s were doin 12 second 1/4 miles and high 3 low 4s for 0-60.

Damn man, yeah u really need to get on a gen2 vmax, nothing rides like it, breaking the wheel out in the first 3 gears, also it doesnt need a 6th gear at 80 mph ur at about 4500 rpm in 5th, the rev limiter doesnt kick in till past 10k. Removing the stock speed limiter u can hit 170-175mph, keep in mind thats with no fairing just brute force. I was hitting 10.5s at the 1/4 mile drag all night on my bone stock 2018, and i wasnt hard hard launching either.

My Raider pulls 0-60 in 4 seconds. Impresses the hell out of me for a 750 pound bike carrying a 200 pound man child. The VROD is hilariously fast. Nothing silences the "no replacement for displacement" Bois faster than seeing that 1250 spank larger motors daily.

You've obviously never tripped the light fandango on a gen 1 or gen 2 VMAX! My personal favorite is the gen 1 and that feeling I get when at 135 mph I shifted at full throttle front 4th to 5th and the rear wheel spins faster than the road under it for a split second telling you to hold on because it's about to get real real fast!

Regarding the Moto Guzzi 1400s I believe they are going to stop making them because of Euro 5 emissions laws. I have the MGX-21 and they are great bikes, please make us a video about how these laws are sucking the life out of motorcycle companies. IMO motorcycles should be exempt for a variety of reasons.

To all those ‘what about the BOSS HOG?!’ This is a motorcycle comparison, not a conjured car/moto back shed parts bin that takes any decent curve probably like an upright mattress with pegs and handle bars even compared to the worst handling bike on this list. It’s like throwing a monster truck in a pick up comparison.

I liked the idea of the Octane, my concern was the single year production and parts availability and little to no aftermarket support. Chose a Nightrod Special.. not disappointed at all. Hilariously fast.
