I don’t even know how he could assume that this is a good matchup for khorne, considering the amount of heal for the infantry, the cart and the destroyer of all large units - Khemler + blood knights. Resources remained in the end would be enough to defeat another exactly the same army of Khorne)

I think toads and furries might be pretty good against grave guard and crypt horrors for the same reasons they’re good against ogre melee. death heads in theory should also be strong against VC monsters. may just come down to blood knights getting favorable engagements and whose mortis engine dies first lol

Well if the vampires cant win a grind fight vs 0 missiles to presure the mortis engine u tell me what they r gona win heh. The key for WoC vs Vamps in wh2 was to use properly the marauder skirmish cav. Khorne has no skirmish cav :D Wait until the DLC comes in. Khorne is getting cheaper infantry and the chosens with dual weapons seem like the perfect unit to clean the entire vampire chaff quite fast.

Dare I say, minotaurs with great weapons might be the answer instead of Spawn? Costs more, yes, but you get AP and Anti-large to delete the Blood Knights and mobility to keep up. Additionally, they are armored themselves, so they will fare a lot better vs VC cav that lacks AP.

I actually had a notion about the new Vampire Counts. In land battles, a massive stacked healing blob with Kemmler is probably going to be quite popular. So maybe bring some of that new fire damage to apply a permanent debuff to healing? And of course counter regeneration? I'm not thinking its the be-all-end-all but as a tool, it could be very useful.

I like fire being anti-healing now. It lets undead (and lore of life/nurgle) be strong without being overpowered because there's easy ways to counter it.

@@SleepyFen Well... "easy". There's some factions like GS that have no access to fire damage or only in a very limited capacity and those factions are already the ones that somewhat struggled against strong healing.

Oh man, the Cackling Necromancer strikes again! As for the Bloodbrute it makes sense to bring it here: double Ghorgon performed well into VC because they beat Varghulfs decisevely and put a dent into the Blood Knights. I guess 1 is just not enough. edit: and BM had Traitor Kin to punish cavalry for blobbing around the Ghorgon if they decided to block it like you did here.

Not sure why people think Khorne would be a good match up against VC. Between the summons and cheap infantry, you can only last so long in an attrition style battle. Crypt Horrors and Blood Knights will punish any large units.

As someone who’s not very knowledgable about the game and matchups can someone explain why this match up is so VC favoured, seemed like a melee slog which normally is good at?

Counts have a lot of summons and healing which makes slow bumps and grinds very good for them coupled with Mortis Engine which lets them sap the HP of everything in melee with them lets them grind things down. Khorne doesn't have a means of shooting the mortis engine down, so they have to try and goon it with a monster or character, but any that do can be blocked by Crypt Horrors and given the steel chair by Blood Knights.

I think its too early to tell as the Khorne build isnt optimised while the VC has had years of refinement over the years. Generally though. Khorne generally has been going for good quality inf with spawn. However the mortis engine just murders them and they are pretty overkill vs the VC chaff. Add in the summons to bog them down further and its HARD. Usual answer is ranged on the mortis. Khorne have to get to it with some heavy hitters. Ur op knows this so can keep the bloodknights/goose in close proximity without commiting to counter them. Either you go in and get killed by the antilarge counter or u wait and ur expensive inf gets worn down by the mortis.

Have you seen the battle? Skarbrand would be worse because is more expensve...no ranged, no magic elite mini-armies don´t work against VC because they can throw you tons of chaf and with mortis engine they will keep damaging you...this is textbook VC grinding...

We’ll definitely get them in neither a future beastmen or monogod dlc/flc. And they will just be available to both beastmen and the relevant monogods like they are doing with marked mortals.

remember that you see only a small part of the matches turin plays, he also knows his opponent won't cheese. land battles needed to have rules just because it's easy to exploit them, i find domination more balanced and fun

Anti large, vc has trouble killing big scary monsters. Blood knights are the best tool for the job.

Monster killers. Blood Knights have high anti-large on top of high weapon strength and good melee attack for a cav unit. Plus, if the Khorne player brought only infantry, then the Blood Knights would still be able to inflict a lot of damage by cycle charging.

grave guard still loses to a unit of bloodletters anyway, even after the buffs. grave guard needed the buff for game 3. Vampire Counts had very little reason in game 2 to ever take grave guard ever, not in campaign or multiplayer. now they will at least have magic dmg and a place to stay in the roster for sure
