Ride Home, Susi and Tinatangi (Performance) | Ben&Ben | TEDxiACADEMY

Twin brothers Miguel and Paolo Guico, otherwise known as the musical duo Ben&Ben, create songs that are often centered on simple but heartfelt themes of love, life and inspiration. They graced the TEDxiACADEMY stage to perform three of their original songs: “Ride Home,” “Susi” and “Tinatangi.”
Miguel and Paolo Guico’s music is often centered on simple but heartfelt themes of love, life, inspiration, and anything else in between. Their Kundiman-inspired song entitled, “Tinatangi,” recently won 2nd runner up and Best Music Video at this year’s PhilPOP Songwriting Competition.

Susi is one of the greatest song ever composed. It talks about life at the point of giving up. At some point we surrender ourselves to the demons within us and Susi made me realize to always look back to why I wanted it. If we feel like losing ourselves in the process of achieving something, just listen to Susi. If you have depression, listen to Susi. If you're doubting yourself, listen to Susi. If you feel like the world is against you or if the people are constantly judging you, listen to Susi. It relieves it for a moment the you realize something. At that point, you are ready to fight again, just like what I felt a year ago. Thank you for Susi, Ben&Ben.

this is the reason why i knew ben & ben, dito ko sila nakilala sa video na to. i like watching random ted talk videos back then, then this video popped up on my suggested section. i got curious kasi merong tagalog word sa title so pinanood ko. i was around 13 or 14 that time and i was feeling depressed that time, palagi, it felt gloomy every time na gigising ako sa umaga hanggang sa pagtulog sa gabi. walang wala akong gana sa buhay, idky why, maybe dahil sa family prob or sa mga sinasabi ng mga magulang ko sakin. going back, so i watched this video and heard these songs na kinanta nila. ride home literally felt like home, as in. tapos yung susi, pakiramdam ko merong taong sumusuporta sakin, na hindi na magiging hopeless yung buhay ko. magmula noon palagi ko na silang pinapakinggan. i still remember exactly yung mga times na pinapakinggan ko to, yung pakiramdam at yung mga tumatakbo sa isip ko noon. kada uuwi ako galing school hihiga ako sa kama habang naka earphones at nakikinig sa ride home at susi (on repeat haha), tapos hanggang sa magkakaroon na naman ako ng kung ano anong thoughts tapos iiyak nang iiyak tapos di na rin ako lalabas ng kwarto, wala na ring kain kain. damn, thank you ben&ben, life saver kayo. 20 na ako ngayon hahaha and i feel like i'm still lost. that's why i intentionally searched for this video(di siya nag pop up sa suggested vids this time haha), dito ko kayo unang nakilala, and gusto ko masave kahit sa pakiramdam lang or through music lang, i just wanna feel everything's gonna be alright. thankyou ben&ben.
