To me, Ride, and particularly this song, is the quintessential dreampop/shoegaze example, followed by Lush. I saw Ride in '90 or '91 at the Latin Quarter in Detroit. I was new to this genre of music. The guitar , bass, keyboard, and drum work is just incredible, they all come together to create this flood of sound. Just awesome. This song, and Lush's Sweetness and Light stand out, to me as the pinnacle of this genre.

@Rob Chapman _if you hold that high of an opinion of him then check out John Fishman.. a rather unknown outside of certain circles but one of THE greatest drummers of all time- the technicality within their catalog of music (Phish) is unparalleled w any band to ever walk on stage. I would suggest start with the 2 albums “Story of the Ghost” & “Rift” ,and just imagine them playing those songs in front of a live audience ..to the “T” note for note (unbelievable, and they’re still doing it today with the mid 90’s being their highest point of precision. (my bad for rambling just trying to spread good vibes..) I do however agree with your sentiment regarding his talents behind a drum kit.. more or less a rhythm drummer if u ask me but nonetheless damn good, ✌️
