This looks like a fun ride but those goofy carriages and rubber tire tracks really make it a goofy version of Vancouver's Skytrain. So my pet name for this is the Miami Goofy Skytrain --- the Winky Wonky Line goes to Omni/School Board, the Horkey Borkey Line goes to Brickell, and the Higgeldy Piggeldy Line goes around the middle of downtown on an inner loop.

Very good point taken. You have to understand that Miami is not an actual big city so most everything is cartoonish and comical. We value aesthetics over function. And to make matters even more comical, we used to have actual people mover cars before 2008 and then the city got funny and decided the carriages needed to be trapezoid shaped mover cars. Hey, wait until you see our new phallic shaped "skyscraper" buildings!

I wish they'd expand Detroit's. Detroit has a light rail now too I believe, not sure if you've covered it. Beautiful vid

Correction: Detroit's light rail is actually a streetcar, but yes, streetcars nowadays can be considered light rail, and I like the people mover as well, bummer they didn't expand it due to money troubles and ignorant political obstacles

@@shanewalters2565 Exactly. I flew through Detroit's Metro Airport Terminal A and they actually had an *indoor* people mover. Both were of the same technology and same steel rails so there was no legitimate excuse why they couldn't be linked together as the first leg of Detroit's Skytrain

Haven't covered the streetcar yet! Was there twice before its opening! Hope to visit it soon! ;)

I don't really get why they built this. Last time I heard it was loosing a fortune everytime it moved. Miami has a decent metro and an electric bus (Battery, or Supercapicitors) would have connected with the community more than this.

I rode on this recently, I thought it was fun and neat to ride on. I liked the Miami metro rail as well, it's Florida's only subway that I'll never forget about, next time I return to Miami, I'm gonna ride them again alongside Tri-Rail and Brightline one day. I personally would say that my homestate of Florida has one of the most advanced modes of transportation to date, I know that there's other states and cities that have better transportation, but still, Florida has pretty good transportation

@@shanewalters2565 It is not a subway, but an elevated train system. Like that of Chicago but full width trains. The lines in Chicago had to be narrow to encompass the Loop because the Loop L was built in 1897.
