Was there about 40 years ago., but did they ever tell you about a plan, which NEVER got off the ground,to have harnessed the power of the rides, for a hydro power plant ? Glad you were able to experience this for yourselves., .

I grew up in the region. It was nice to see home again. Lots of history in New Brunswick and the Maritimes, with lot of great museums.

Not sure how much time you have, but I'd recommend going to Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg too. You can take a ferry to NFLD, or just head back north around the PEI, then on to the Gaspe. Perce Rock is very nice town and Bonaventure Island is a gannet sanctuary. Traveling back down (west on the St. Lawrence) take a ferry to the North Shore and discover the Saguenay and lac st. jean then Tadoussac, where you can see beluga whales. Then on to Quebec City, and Montreal .

Great video. I have been intrigued by the Tidal Bore since we first experienced them at Turnagain Arm in Alaska in 2019. Have been around the Bay of Fundy for a couple of weeks now and have seen Tidal Bore twice around the Bay- once in Moncton, NB and once near Mccan, NS. We also went to the Interpretive Centre and observation deck across the river from the rafts at high tide. Couldn’t talk my wife into doing the Bore Tide rafting. So thanks for letting me experience it vicariously!

Since I'm from down east originally I go "home" every few years. I never get tired of it. Been to St. Andrew By the Sea numerous times and love it there. Surprisingly, I have never did the TIDAL bore adventure. I guess being from the east I take it for granted. I am always amazed at the high tides though. Parasboro, NS is one place where you can really see them as well. I hope you are taking the time to explore the Cabot Trail while you're down east. It's quite the adventure and offers some great hiking adventures as well. Of course there's Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg, which is an UNESCO site as well.

The Bay of Fundy is an amazing experience. If you're still heading up the coast be sure to add Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia to your list. It's one of the quintessential picturesque Post Card towns ever. On the coast is also Digby, home of Digby's clams. All the sea vessels in the harbor is something to see.

You’re in my back yard! Welcome! What is/was your fav place so far in the maritimes? Be sure to check out the Cabot Trail, and Peggy’s cove. Stick to the coastal secondary highways for the most scenic views. 🙌🏻

Reminds me of the bore tides in Cook Inlet in Alaska. Motorhome Experiment visited here not long ago. Your video shows more of the extreme tidal changes but both are great videos of the area. The raft trip looked like fun! Looking forward to seeing where you are next. 🙂

Loved your videos. I was there last August, but did not take the raft tour. We also have a Roadtrek (Zion). I recommend stopping at Booth Bay Harbour in Maine on your way back. If you like clam bakes, I would definitely make a reservation at Cabbage Island at the pier. It was a highlight of our trip.

Holy cow, that was amazing. How did the boat empty all that water? Gotta have a passport, heh?
@TayG-y9q5 жыл бұрын
Nancy Fahey the tubes on the side of the raft are what creates the buoyancy and the bottom is actually called a glass bottom and doesn’t really do anything to keep the boy floating so it isn’t sealed to the tube and it all leaks out. The older style of rafts you used to have to bail them out after every rapid you went over.

If you guys are heading to Halifax NS, be sure to take the ferry to Dartmouth and head to Two if By Sea cafe, they have their own roastery next to the cafe and you can pick up some fantastic coffee (it's hugely popular with the locals, I'm from there originally 😀). Then a few doors down is the fantastic local pub Battery Park, where you can try one of many great local micro brews (they do flights). There's a store at the front as well if you want to buy some to go. The food here is also great, and if it's warm there's a patio at the back. batterypark.ca
