Rode this cable car to Zugspitze today and the last few hundred meters before the summit are nearly a vertical climb. I'm not scared of heights, but that ride made me uneasy 😂 My husband kept reminding me that Germans built it, and when we came home we found this documentary. Amazing stuff! I truly recommend visiting Zugspitze! The ride up is terrifying, but the ride down was absolutely beautiful.

We were from an American paratrooper battalion so we thought we were pretty much fearless. Well, let me tell you, none of us were smiling on that trip up which went right through the clouds! Was a scene right out of Clint Eastwood’s Where Eagles Dare!

Even with the safety straps, but then, I have acrophobia and just seeing it on video almost bothers me! I used to ski all over the world, including in the alps, but for some reason I could handle the height then while in the chairlifts, but as I age now, longevity is inviting, and heights bother me more.
