I live in a city of 100,000 people and my city bought a used ladder truck and then sold it less than a year later because they couldn't get it through the roads. They had about 5 or 6 crash incidents with it hitting parked cars because morons don't know how to use the driveway that comes with their house.

Having the Opticom integrated into the traffic system really helps. These D/O’s, chauffeurs, Engineers, (the various titles for the ones who primarily do nothing but drive, pump, and operate these apparatus’ have) are still bad ass and incredibly skilled to be able to mitigate the traffic and do it safely even with the added help from traffic system. You are right, it is damn amazing. Given that the vehicles are approximately 30 tons or more.

Hi, I have a lot of respect and always pray for the firefighters in the united states. what really gets me angry is when you all are enroute to a fire that certain people in NYC just don't want to move their vehicles. now if it's very tight quarters and there isn't any place for them to move over to I understand that. but, what I don't understand is: why do some people just ignore the fact that you all need to get to a fire or a rescue? God bless all of you firefighters in NYC,
@losbanosfilms12283 жыл бұрын
So I notice that when they show up to a fire some of the firefighter go into the fire and some stand outside next to the trucks, why is that ? R they like reserve ?
@rapman53633 жыл бұрын
It’s organized chaos. Every single firefighter on the scene has a specific job ie: can man, roof man, hose man, backup etc.....they will go to investigate the incident with a certain number of firefighters and as the rest of the responders arrive they wait until they get a report back and will go into action once they know exactly what they have. No use sending every person into a fire building. You always have fresh manpower to rotate through. I hope that helps.
@perniciousreaper43933 жыл бұрын
Google "2 in 2 out rule." In a nutshell, it's a rule (OSHA rule, actually), that states that firefighters must enter a building in pairs and that for every pair that enters the building, there must also be a pair waiting outside the building in case rescue is required.
