Just finished wrapping mine but I did the covered kit since I was more worried about the underside of the downtube than anything else. Nice bike. It was painful wrapping it lol.

It's definitely not a fun or soothing experience lol. Thanks for watching!

With vinyl wraps, a heat gun is your friend. That takes all the little bubbles out, helps to "wrap" the vinyl around tight little corners and such. Keep in mind, you're using small amounts of heat on the wrap, not toasting it. Especially on a bike application since there are plastic brake lines,shifting components guards, in close proximity.

Very true but I just didn't feel safe using my heat gun on the carbon. I may have been able but with my luck I would have melted something lol 😆 Thanks for watching
@timmatteson7897 Жыл бұрын
@@ESBMTB yep, i totally understand. using a heat gun comes with a little "pucker factor" everytime. i've done enough vinyl on vehicles that i feel comfortable enough, and my EX8 is aluminum so no worries.

Great video. Where did you get those fork and shock decals? You don’t show them much, how well do they match the bronze?
@ESBMTB Жыл бұрын
I bought them right from Fox. Here is a link to the install video kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKrXqKyIp8dmqa8si=HtzOK75Nmz3kasMF Thanks for watching.

I did the toptube and downtube on my Bronson with film from a different brand and it looked great upon install, but after a couple days a bunch of residual water bubbles that I couldn't see dried out and now there's bubbles underneath it everywhere. Very frustrating... Ordered a full tailored kit for the Fuel EXe I'm picking up these weekend and I'm dreading the install

It was not a fun install that's for sure lol but I thought of it as an investment 😉 thanks for watching

Hey Chris. So I just picked up a few EXGEN6 in carbon as well and I’m debating either riding it bear or ride wrapping it after watching your video. It looks like a whole bunch of frustration as I’m not sure that I have the patience to do it. I’m hoping the shop can do it. Do you have any idea what the overall cost would be for the ride wrap and then what would be your best cost on the labor?
@ESBMTB Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the comments. The price would be over $100 CAN to wrap the whole bike but it is worth it. Shops will do it but they charge a lot as it is frustrating and long lol. Thanks for watching, oh who is Chris? My name is Lee lol 🙂

Good content, I follow you because I just bought the same bike (with Trek fest, I think is saved a 1'000 $ at least compared to the original price) so you made it easier for me to wrap the bike step by step, I feel the same with my first carbon bike, but i just hope this rap will survive a 2-3 years in the elements. because the price is outrages for what it is. You must stop breathing in your vids man, my wife came in to check if i was having a lady friend over in the garage :-) I am fighting the urge to pimp my ride with all the bronze gold 🙂 I'll keep it dark grey when possible 🦾

Thanks for the comment & sub! It's totally true about my breathing lol this DJI mic picks up everything... I have even edited my breathing out of videos 😁. Maybe it's a fat guy thing who knows but I will do my best in upcoming content. The bike is freaking awesome and the Ride wrap has held up pretty good! 🤞

How’s the matte finish on the wrap compared to the original paint?
@ESBMTB Жыл бұрын
Worked out great. The paint looked the same before and after. I really liked the matt color & wanted to keep that look. Turned out awesome. Thanks for watching

The heavy breathing just killed the video

I apologize for my breathing, it's even heavier on my trail ride videos 😞 The DJI mic is too good it picks up everything! Thank you for watching and shaming my breathing, it is too heavy you are right 👍 I will make sure to breathe less (and heavy) during my next videos 😁

Do you think your bike have the exact same measurements as the EX 8 Gen 6? RideWrap don't have the tailored kit for the 8 in stock but they do have the kit for the 9.7 and i am very tempted to buy it anyways, what would you do?
@ESBMTB Жыл бұрын
It's probably close but mine is carbon and the 8 is aluminum. The thickness may be different. I'd wait till they have it in stock. If they are not going to make it then I'd say order it!

Put the xt ice tech rotors on, and 180 mm in the rear it’s better. I have that bike too!😊

It appears to me that you did not need to remove the wheels.

You could probably leave them on but it just gives you more space to move around the bike. Thanks for watching

Good morning, next time you put on decals buy a chemical called right on. It helps with the process. Much better than soap and water imo.
