took me like a month to get the shuvit and I have been skating for 7 months now. but i got them consistent now, if there are any beginners reading this, do your tricks in a gradient, don't go straight to any flip tricks because you'll have a hard time. try learning the shuvit, it's a really fun trick but it will take practice, do not be discourage because everything good comes from hardwork and dedication :) Skate safe y'all

Here are some basic things that helped me: 1. Keep your shoulders parallel with the initial board position. Your feet (and the board) should land in line with your shoulders. 2. Put your weight into the side of the board that you are facing, with most of it towards the toes of your back foot. This will lift the rest of the board so that it rotates quickly. 3. Hopping forward to catch the board.

buy a pair of shin gaurds and keep practicing until your shins bleed and your ankles are jelly. also for everyone thats over rotating or flipping the board, dont try quite as hard. dont scoop as hard with your foot as you think you need to. look how effortless spencer looks. try and replicate that. its should be a single easy motion dont force it. i landed my first shuvit the other day while i was talking on the phone. i wasnt even thinking about what i was doing

I ride goofy as well and I had this same problem. Try changing you back foot a little bit more to the right of the tail that way your not over spinning. After that just try experimenting with the amount of power you use.

I don't know why but when I do my shuvit I seem to automatically rotate my body 180. Its weird, I cant do a normal shuvit but I can do a 180 shuvit. I try to do it without turning my body but the board just fly way out of my feet.

Other n that, im startin to mess with boardslides and 50/50s, theyre super half assed because at the end of the ledges i can almost never land back on the board. Also, been practicing ollying from flat to declines, can transfer a spine sometimes now, and grind up/ drop into an angled mini ramp about 6-7ft grind to a 4ft drop in. Thx for askin my man :).

Just practice on a soft surface and when you do the initial spin with your back foot do it with a lot of pressure and bend your knees. Be brave and do it without putting you're foot on the floor. You'll fall flat on your ass a few times but I'll work out.

Honestly, I would try to learn your shuv first. It can save you from the anxiety and the fear of falling because of your slipping out or popping. Shuving also gets your more comfy with your board and gives you prep for an ollie. Your choice thou.
