@@anthonyhope2589 some great options, those two bikes will both be easier to pedal and offer better performance on the pavement. Whichever you choose you will enjoy!

their website says the moptor is 750w sustained, is that an error, or maybe a new gen upgrade?
@BikeRidecom Жыл бұрын
@@greenwave819 This is technically true. Ride1Up has highlighted the "sustained" rating instead of the "nominal" motor rating. The motor is a Bafang RMG040.DC, which has a nominal rating of 500W and a peak output of 850W with 60Nm of torque, which allows it to put out approx 750W for a sustained amount of time. This is what you will see on your bike display, and what the company uses to rank its motors. We choose to use the "nominal" rating for all e-bike motors we test for consistency. This is the industry standard for motor ratings, and is what you will typically see advertised, or in the bike descriptions. 750W nominal motors would have higher torque and peak outputs, typically around 80Nm of torque and 1000W peak.

the ride 1up Turris is a great low cost bike. if you need more torque their limited series has plenty, and ofc their are other brands too, just hard to beat ride1up value

@@greenwave819I love the design of the Turris but it seems limited for the price, especially when this one is the same price right now

I just ordered one. I was under the impression, from other reviews and videos, that this could be "unlocked" to achieve throttle speeds of 25mph. Some people say "yes" others say "no". I guess I'll find out for sure this weekend.
@BikeRidecom9 ай бұрын
The Cafe Cruiser we received was a class 3 capable unit that could travel 28mph using pedal assist and 20mph with throttle-only. I hope you enjoy your new bike!
@AP-go1ks8 ай бұрын
The video is incorrect - it is a 750W sustained motor that peaks at 1140+ watts (we have this bike). The reason is Ride1Up ships the bike w/ the PAS5 = 75%, so it is 25% shy of the max power... when you go into the advanced menu, you can set PAS5=100% and you peak at 1140+ watts when pedaling.
@BikeRidecom8 ай бұрын
The motor on our test unit is a Bafang RM G040.350/500.DC with the specs stated in the video. bafang-e.com/en/oem-area/components/component/motor/rm-g040350500dc Which is a 500W nominal motor based on manufacturer specs. What is the serial number on your Cafe Cruiser motor? It would be interesting to see if components have changed over time due to sourcing or supply issues. Good note about PAS adjustability. We test using as-shipped factory settings unless otherwise mentioned.

We bought our cafe cruiser in Nov 2022. The bike peaks at 1140+ watts and even the website states 750W sustained. Thanks.@@BikeRidecom

The passenger rack can hold 150 lbs, not 130 lbs as the video states. It also states this on Ride1Up's website.

Thanks for pointing this out. The model reviewed was a 2022 Cafe Cruiser, at the time of writing the literature supplied with the bike indicated 130lb. This appears to be updated to 150lb now.

Why does their web site say it's a 750 watt bafang motor? I can't decide on this bike or the adventure by aventon.
@BikeRidecom Жыл бұрын
Make sure to check out our review coming out this week as we will be looking at the Aventure by Aventon so you can see it in depth! Great timing for your decision! Ride1Up has chosen to highlight the peak output of the motor, which is 750W rather than the nominal output which is 500W and is the rating normally used to label motors. So it's a bit of a tricky marketing, but technically true. I can tell you that the Aventure does have a 750W Bafang motor, and the difference in acceleration and overall torque is massive. If hills and high speed riding are your objective the Aventure is a better choice. Hang tight for that new review though! We will get it uploaded as fast as possible for you.

Battery UL rated ??....looks like bit of a reach, stem riser needed ???
@BikeRidecom Жыл бұрын
The battery is a Reention Rhino using Samsung cells and is CE Rated, but no UL rating. The stem is adjustable and you can angle the bars significantly lower than shown in the video. The stem offers good adjustability so I would not see a stem riser needed. Sometimes I forget to adjust an item for comfort before we go and shoot This is a good example with the bars adjusted for another taller rider before me!
