Agreed, I live in Apollo Beach. it is hard to find a quiet road to ride on. And our cops are crazy aggressive. That is the kindest thing I can say about them.

Living in the Orlando area, it is hard to find twisties, But we do the best we can. I usually stitch a ride together w/ known curvy roads and straights. I recommend finding roads next to lakes. They usually follow the shoreline.
@rowdyriemer3 ай бұрын
I LOVED riding around the west side of Lake Apopka, largely because everything else in the area sucked so bad by comparison. By Florida standards, that area isn't so flat, and Sugar Loaf Mountain (really just a hill) is the most predominant point in Florida - the highest on the peninsula. Also, where I lived just north of Apopka, there's a legitimately twisty road that was just north of my house. It's a stretch of 435/Mount Plymouth rd between Kelly Park Road and 46/Sorrento ave. The area with the twists is short, and cars are often in the way. But when cars are not in your way, it's fun - for a few minutes anyway. I used to wear a leather jacket when riding in the Orlando area. It was usually ok, because I commuted to work before the real misery started, and left work around 6:30 when it cooled off to more sane temperatures. But on the occasions where I road my bike during my lunch break, stopping at red lights was pure hell! I'm currently in the Panama City area where it's MUCH WORSE. Please, folks, don't vacation in Florida if you're wanting to do a lot of motorcycle riding when you get there. I still prefer riding my bikes, but I wish I were somewhere else.

Lali, I used to live in Florida and here's the problem I see. In PA you get 6 months of winter, in FL they get 6 days of winter. I ended up moving because I need seasons other than summer. Also, the only place in FL that you will find actual corners is at a track. Stay safe and good luck! 😁👍

Very cool watching your videos from my home state! My personal favorite is cruising along the coastlines of Florida for some nice ocean views. Personal favorite is taking A1A which runs from Jacksonville to Miami. While we don't have fun twisty roads we do have good weather all year long with the exception of the heat in the summer but with mild winters. I hope you didn't experience the recent hurricane that passed thru Florida.

I put about 20k miles on my last bike in a little less than 2 years. Just riding around central Florida. Usaally riding to breakfast or lunch every weekend. You have to set your expectations. You're not going to get great twisty's. But you can find some ok stuff, outside the populated area's. Lake County has some ok stuff better than most I've seen close to Orlando. But very little of it is on a "main" route. And none of it is a very long stretch of curves. Ozello Trail over on the west coast is a little fun. Basically a road winding it's way through the coastal swamps. Decent restaurant called Peck's Old Port Cove is out towards the end of the road. It's a nice lunch spot if you enjoy seafood. From Orlando that's about a 2 hr ride though.

Definitely not an easy task finding fun roads on FL. Here are a few of my favorites Scenic 17 - Avon Park Snake Rd - Miccoskee Indian reservation S Canoe Creek Rd - Kenansville North River Rd - Ft Meyers Kaner Highway - Indian Town And ask Shadetree about hauling a boat with a motorcycle. LOL

I spent several winters in South Florida riding with the SFRC. There would be a ride every Sunday, rain or shine, hot or cold. Sure we toured many of the same long straight roads, but it was great fun riding to have lunch with some wonderful people. The Canopy Roads were my favorite.
@1mangostick3 ай бұрын
The 7 years I lived in fl were a straight road nightmare. Out on the west coast near spring hill you can find *some* twisty roads.. but nothing like what you're used to. If you haven't been out here to east TN, we have twisty roads for miles and miles and miles.. and some more miles. There's also the dragon if so inclined. :)

To be honest, just driving in Orlando is insane, I can't imagine on a motorcycle. Florida's roads are basically "new" (not meaning good condition) so most of the roads were constructed to connect new urban areas. Shortest distance between two points? Straight. 🤣 The good thing about riding in Florida? You can ride all year round, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years etc. But riding June through September is like riding on the surface of the sun. That just makes road trips more fun! Be safe Lali !!! 👍

And the entire state is just one big Swamp. Thanks for letting all your friends know they should stay in Phili. That way when I take my bike out to the Green Swamp and cut across Green Pond road through the twisties I won't have to slow down for them. Or if I take the The Green mountain Scenic Hwy through Winter Garden up to Altona to Mount Dora I know the way won't be crowded. OH! you forgot to tell them about all the Alligators that hang out in the road, just waiting for Yanky Bikers. Please, keep up the Great job!

I rode in NW PA Summer of 2023 lot's of Hilly Curvey roads , but not smart to rind them fast because of never ended blind driveways. That's the nice thing about a race Track and Tail of the Dragon. Out West in the Mountains you don't have driveways every 300 yards and often you can see a lot father ahead. There are Millions of Idiot Drivers in FL Half the people are going way too slow and the other half are going way too fast. The two don't mix. In 2020 I was driving an 18 wheeler in Fl around Auburndale I noticed that about 40% of the cars on the road were dented and smashed up. It looks like people get into fender benders non stop. A dangerous place to ride a motorcycle. Also a very dangerous place to be during a Thunderstorm is on a Motorcycle . There still is a lot of Rural AG land in parts of FL that could be fun to ride on.
