With foam earplugs you should also roll them to compress them, insert them, and then hold them in place while they expand to make sure they’re in the ear canal.

I've been in a deep dive on the motorcycle soace over the last couple weeks. Im pretty sure im deadset on buying new off the lot. Yeah i would save more but i would rather go down that route and also where i am I don't have very many post on FB marketplace place that are selling motorcycles (there was actually one post for a Kawasaki ninja 400 for $7300 for title and low mileage but i refuse to pay that price lmao) now im just waiting to start work again so i can start saving again.

Hi Lali, I apologise for this late message! I just wanted to extend my best wishes for a Happy new year! I love your channel and I am super impressed with you earning your PHD. I am recently retired but was a hospital worker for 35 years. In my career I was fortunate to have worked with some smart people so I have a small idea of the dedication and effort it would take to earn a PHD! Hope you have a great year and I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Cheers! 🤗

I grew up with guns, chainsaws and loud music but didn't get tinnitus until I suffered a middle ear barotrauma from scuba diving. There is no cure. I've learned to live with it. I wear the loop ear plugs and they do make a difference. Also, my hearing is incredibly good! In fact it's too good.

The Sedici Strada 2. It's been replaced with the Strada 3 since but the Strada 3 sizing is so weird and tight, definitely go try it in store first before buying.

I think there is a difference between NRR and SNR. Oversimplifying: NRR is calculated as you say, but SNR is directly subtractive, a protection rated at 20dB SNR reduces the 100dB noise to 80dB. Neither really communicates the freq response. The question is: are vendors correctly using and communicating these terms in their materials? Knowing life they bend the truth as much as they can...

The best way to survive a group ride (of randos), is to not do them. In my 20's I did this maybe 3 times, 2 of those 3 times I watched people high side there bike off a curb into someones front lawn. And one of those times they had a random girl on the back wearing shorts and flip flops.

Just curious, You say that $5,000 is "peppery" for an entry level bike, but you didn't list any examples of alternatives that are a better value. AS far as I'm aware $5,000 seems to be in line with most other entry level bike plus or minus a couple hundred. And if you're suggesting a new rider buy used that is an unfair comparrison.
@AntiParallali
@AntiParallali 8 күн бұрын
You're right, buying used is usually what I recommend for a brand new rider for the same reason someone might suggest a used car to a teenager

I have a 2021 Mazda 3 Turbo and love it! The only problem, it says I can’t tow with it. So I’ve been looking to trade it in for a truck to put my z900rs cafe in for track days and transport it to nicer weather for the holidays (to ride). Any thoughts? This video is great, but I hear it can mess up the transmission.” My initial questions: -Is it safe for longer rides? And for how long? -Say I take it to do track days (1-3 hour rides one way) several times a year? -what’s the long term wear and tear on the car? I really appreciate your help! I live in the Pacific Northwest.

I've heard the same transmission stories when I was looking for this towing setup, but all I heard was people saying that it could mess the transmission up and nobody actually reporting that it did mess their transmission up. Honestly, I had no problem with it and nobody in Europe towing with this car seems to have a problem with it either. I would respect the owners manual (look for the european version manual for your car) and not exceed 62mph like they suggest or something like that. I towed it 1000 miles to from Pennsylvania to Florida and back just fine that was 15-18hrs each way. Your tracks are probably way closer than that and probably mostly highway which is pretty easy to tow on. Get the lightest trailer you can find that fits your bike. This one was 400lbs 5x8ft but you can probably find something much lighter

Showing my age a lot. First bike 1980 Yamaha RD250LC which I rode for the mandatory CC restriction in Western Australia at the time. Moved up to a couple of the 350cc versions. Stopped riding for about 20 years and got back on a FZR600. Replace it with a couple of Honda VFR800S. First one was stolen. Then got a Yamaha 07 R1 which was fun to ride for about 30 minutes. Most of my riding was commuting so it wasn't a great fit. Have now got a fairly stock MT-07. This bike gives me what I wanted/craved from the 2 strokes. Nimble with plenty of low down grunt. Of course the standard exhaust was replaced before it left the showroom. I couldn't buy the HO version of the MT-07 in blue so I got the slightly smaller capacity version which is LAMS compliant. Rather than restricting the capacity first year riders can use, the power output is enforced in Australia. It is still an incredibly fun bike to ride.

You gave great advice! I am back into riding since I retired a year ago. After seeing this video, I think I will avoid big group rides. If there a few of us, just pick a spot and meet up there at your own pace. Cheers! 😊

Yeah, you're well expressed and well intentioned, but no, it doesn't really work that way. I've been riding sixty years, never use earplugs, have no problems with tinnitus nor perceptible hearing degradation. I don't know what's going on with you but my first guess would be something with blood pressure or blood sugar getting a little wonky. But I understand that once people lock into a view on something, it takes a drastic effort to get them to reconsider. But when you're older, you do see some errors in your younger ways. Cheers!

I’ve always had trouble getting the earpieces hooked over my ears with the helmet on. I ended up getting glasses with straight earpieces and that made it much easier. A lot of aviator sunglasses are designed this way, probably for this reason. I think my clear glasses are actually reading glasses. If I wear them without the helmet they tend to slip down my nose after a while, but the helmet actually keeps them in place.

I find the biggest factor in uncomfortable riding glasses is when the arms curve inwards to clamp around your head. The helmet squeezes along the sides of the arms so what should be a gentle squeeze becomes an uncomfortable clamping force. Thinner frames are more flexible and deliver less of that squeezing force to your head. Frames with arms that don't curve inwards don't really apply any extra force to your head and tend to be comfortable in a helmet

I agree there, I dealt with that too. Still deal with it if I forget to put my Flying Eyes pair of glasses on

My solution for riding is go get a pair of Oakley sunglasses as 99.99% of them can be replaced with prescription lenses. Pro Tip: Oakley has their own lens grinder than grinds a much finer lens. My first pair, I felt like an eagle. It was remarkable how much more detailed my eye sight was. The sunglasses tend to have a much better shape to fit inside the helmet. Good video!!

I just get a box of 200 Honeywell plugs from Amazon. Also remember to periodically replace the check pads in your helmet. The foam compresses with sweat. I got a new helmet and... wow. The difference in noise with fresh cheek pads in remarkable.

Riding with glasses is the most annoying thing I can imagine. Get contacts, they are more comfortable and much safer because glasses don’t work for peripheral view or if you move your eyes to the left or right.
@AntiParallali
@AntiParallali 17 күн бұрын
Contacts are definitely not safer for riding. The amount of dust I've gotten in mine. Never again. One even fell out on my ride home a few years back
@TheDougSpot
@TheDougSpot 17 күн бұрын
@ Sounds to me like you needed different contacts. When wearing glasses, that blurry section you can’t see through where there is no glass could be the difference between life and death. Not to mention the fogging when you’re breathing in colder weather. There are loads of reasons why contacts are safer, but do you🤷🏾‍♂️

Alpine MotoSafe are really great. Red ones have too much blocking for me, I get completely disoriented, I can;t even shift gears crrectly because I cannot hear my engine at all. and that's on a pretty loud Vulcan 900
