Just came across this video and I used to live and work in VN for 10 years (had moved back to the States for more than 8 years now) so I had to watch. I'm really curious to hear your perspective on the scooter in VN vs Italy. I miss scooter so much, to have my girlfriend snuggle behind me and we talk and laugh, smelling delicious food and we can just stop to pick up delicious food at great price, listen to riders next to you talking, seeing children looking up and asking their parents as they sit on their parents' scooter, being part of the mass of riders, the feeling of freedom is so unique. I'm hoping you'll be able to visit the independently owned cafes in VN too vs the franchise Starbucks that is way over price with lousy coffee here in the States. Take care and look forward to seeing your perspectivie.

Hi Gabi. I did a 2 month solo motorcycle tour of Vietnam in 2019 and had a fantastic experience. I started in Siagon and made my way up to The Chinese boarder in the North. I think besides the overall experience, highlights had to be hanging out for a week and exploring the area around Dalat, and also riding from Hanoi up to Sapa over to Ha Giang and then to Cao Bang on the Chinese boarder was mind blowing. I just wished I would have included Ninh Binh in this circular route. I've traveled all over the world as a mountaineer and motorcycle travel aficionado, and would rate this as one of my top travel adventures. Enjoy.
@ridewithgabi2 жыл бұрын
Wonderful to hear that :) I am in Dalat right now and it’s such a beautiful place. Unfortunately I will not have time to do the entire trip, this time I will stop in Da Nang I think, but I will back during the high season to do the north. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. 2 month solo motorcycle tour sounds amazing! 🤩

Hi Gabi, I'm going to Thailand next month for a month but will visit Vietnam for about 2 weeks in the interim. Will the Thailand covid insurance cover for the one month period or will I need to renew the Thai covid insurance when I re-enter Thailand from Vietnam? Great video by the way. Diolch ( Welsh 🏴 for thanks ).

You can actually do just 1 policy with Allianz for your entire vacation. And it will cover you for both Thailand and Vietnam. That policy I recommend it’s a global policy. If you have any additional question, you can always contact mister Prakan customer service. Enjoy your trip 😉

One of the things which I found a bit strange about getting a haircut or massage in HCMC is that you are told the amount of the tip you have to pay before getting the service. The price of the tip is fixed and if you don't agree to it, you won't get the service.
@ridewithgabi2 жыл бұрын
Yes that’s true. So weird. That’s why I just had a haircut in that place, and then moved to another one for the full package (next video). That Mimi asked me 1.3 million for the package, including tip. the second one I went to asked 350k including tip.
@megaworldasia3602 жыл бұрын
@@ridewithgabi District one is definitely the most expensive area of HCMC, mainly because it's the primary tourist hub. I've done a few trips to Vietnam and I normally stay in District 7 when I'm passing through HCMC these days. It's a bit quieter and also less expensive. There's also a couple of large shopping malls where you can buy Vietnam coffee in bulk for cheaper than in D 1. The one which is fantastic and which is unique is the hazelnut flavored Arabica coffee. Safe travels and looking forward to seeing you trip up through Vietnam.

If you stay little in HCMC, you must go : Ben Thanh Market (in the center) An Dong Market (district 5) Cholon (District 5, it’s chinatown area) Restaurant : If they don’t close with covid Pho Hoa : 260 Pasteur Street, District 1 BANH XEO - 46 Dinh Cong Trang - District 1 BUM BO HUE : KING LONG 80/64 Tran Quang Dieu - District 3

Gabi, why does the night light sign at 4:33 say HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022 when you are in June? Four months ago you had a video on a $75/month room in Phuket. Do you notice that rooms are more expensive in Vietnam as you travel the country?
@ridewithgabi2 жыл бұрын
I have no idea why it says Happy new year 😅 even in koh samui they still had the sign up. For the rooms, I didn’t have the opportunity to check the prices here yet. The hotels I find them a bit more pricey here and less quality compared to Thailand

Hello Gabi! a quick question if you don't mind, but I've been thinking about traveling to Vietnam for 1 month in August 10th to September 10th more or less, planning to visit the entire of Vietnam, North and South, but the only problem I have is the weather, I heard it's rainy a lot in Aug and Sep? so I'm not sure if it's a good time to visit :O so I'd like to hear your opinion, like what should I do? should I still go for it? or perhaps change plans or just wait next year or whatever? also thank you so much again for your time and for your information, it's helped me a lot! =D

October to April is the most beautiful time, In the North it will be cool sometimes quite cold in November, December and January, in the Central will no longer have storms, in the South it is the dry season so there is little rain

@@atnb8148 So wait, is August/Sep (especially August) a good time?
@atnb81482 жыл бұрын
@@dandandan3512 August in the North is no longer as hot as June and July, in the South is still the rainy season, there will be sudden rains but only lasts for a few dozen minutes or a few hours. In the central region, you just need to pay attention to the weather to avoid the time when there are storms coming from the sea
@atnb81482 жыл бұрын
@@dandandan3512 In fact, most tourists come to Vietnam in June, July, August, September and October. Just pay attention to the weather and everything will be fine. If you want to comfortably avoid the heat, then come in the winter in the north, the dry season in the south from October to April, but this time is not suitable for relaxation, bathing in the sea, but tourists often go to the mountains. in vietnam any day is fun and people welcome you, just pay attention to the weather to avoid a bad experience

Petty thefts , especially stealing phones happen 70-80% of the time in district 1 where tourists concentrated, tourists with their phones taking photos, recording, checking maps, services etc .....attracted crimes ...........outside of district 1, everything is perfectly normal like anywhere else in the world . Somehow the combination of tourists and district 1 give Saigon and Vietnam the bad reps

How you can drive in different driving sides of streets in Vietnam than in Thailand? If you asked me I will need months to reset my mind on the different system!
@ridewithgabi2 жыл бұрын
Ahah I didn’t even know it. The moment I came out of the rental shop I noticed “oh! They drive right” and off I went. 😄 Here I find it easier because you are never alone on the street. And you can follow the crowd of scooters, until you get use to it.
