what took place 12 years ago was 'Poornakumbh'. Ardh kumbh takes place in 6 years and Poorna kumbh in 12 years. Maha Kumbh takes place once in 144 years ( 12x12). This is the most significant occasion for many reasons. And Mahakumbh takes place only in Prayagraj.
