Some important information for uk gamers here about this game. It is only out on the USA because apparently it has lisense issues everywhere else. What you need to do is go and change your location to USA, then get a 10 dollar paid gift card (make sure its dollars) and go and buy it when your location is on USA. It will ask you for an adress as well before you buy it and you can just use any USA adress and postcode ( i used walmart florida). Dowload it and set your location back to UK and your good to go. I have been playing it for ages on this method and it works perfectly! Enjoy

I am a die hard Ridge Racer Fan. It started with the original on PS1, but I fell in love with the first PSP iteration. I'm really happy to see 6 get backwards compatible. The only issue I ran into was just a subtle texture pop-in the glass in two buildings in particular. The two glass skyscrapers connected via the whale statues when you race on SouthBay Docks R, and Aviator Loop R, and one of the buildings atop the cliffside at the start when you race at Seacrest District R Other than that I'm truly happy to play this again and It's sad that Namco has let this series lay dormant when Ace Combat, Tekken, and Soul Calibur got great comebacks and I'm afraid it was due to RR Unbounded turning so many fans off and the series resort to mediocre mobile ports such as RRVita,. Slipstream, and the cancelled Draw & Drift. I hope someday we will return to Ridge City and see Reiko again as a next gen title.

Was apsolute buzzing when this was showing as backwards compatible on the Xs. This game never gets old and looks great and as you say on a oled it just pops.

I love Ridge racer! This is great news!. Hope Namco put it's things togheter and bring us a new game!. In fact, what Namco needs to do is to make a love letter for all us Ridge fans. That would be including: All the fictional tracks, teams, cars, characters (all of them, from Reiko and Rena, to Kara), from every iteration of the series, including spin offs like Critical velocity, R:Racing evolution (except the real ones) and Unbounded. Add a story mode and classes like the ones in Type four, but varying routes depending on dialogs, decisions and race results. Make diferent types of racing, including not only RR circuit style but also the modes in R:RE (Rally, Drag, tests, time trial, elimination, etc). Include all the music and general atmosphere of RR, thats fundamental. Make the gameplay similar to (to my personal taste) to the Rage-Type 4-V trilogy but adapted to new gen capabilities, choosing between diferents types of handling. Include a good online support and top notch graphics (this is esencial for newcomers). Give some easter eggs, like placing Ridge World in the Ace combat strangereal (maybe a cutscene of Kei from Ace combat visiting her sister Reiko). I know that it's maybe a lot to put in a game, but given the tech of today, given the proper care and love it could end being a winner. Namco need to know that we care and if Ace and the others made a great comeback then i don't see why Ridge can't do the same.

Yep, the short story: when I got my Playstation I only had Ridge Racer and Wipeout and no memory card. So, I had to get good enough to complete them entirely in one sitting as quickly as possible. They were the only two games I owned on the format for a good 6 months and I played them to death. But then never stopped, lap after lap after lap. I played RR to various music with beats on various corners, so that every race was completely perfect. The when getting RRV I ran 33,000 kilometres and perfected much of the game, then videos were supplied when a journalist visited Namco Japan and they highly impressed with my ingenuity an understanding of the handling, I was the best player they had ever seen and considered me one of if not the best player in the world at that time.

For you, how did you get around the region issue that I've seen others mention on the internet where by you need to set your console to the US for the game to work and have access to DLC etc? (assuming you encountered these issues to begin with) Can't work out if it's worth saving up for a series s just to play RR6 and few other games or keep hold of a 360 around just in case my game save won't transfer over to the new console. Depends on where you live. Disc required for EU, but available digitally in the US.

same here, couldn't import my old 100% save properly. they don't have the dlc music and cars on server anymore so that causes a conflict if they're used in your save, something like this. I still have all this on my old 360 console, but it's not possible to transfer those dlc unlock keys over. probably my favourite racing game of that console generation. this and test drive unlimited.

Hello, I think you may be able to still use your 100% game save. Here's what I did... once you've copied your old save to the cloud turn off your old Xbox, then power on your newer Xbox. First look up Ridge Racer 6 in the Microsoft store, scroll down find the "add-on" section for the game... click on that, look up all add-ons and you'll see each individual DLC cars like the old Xbox 360 game had... click and install each individual car... takes a little time but it's worth it as once you're done you will be able to use your old 100% game save without any issues!... Just worked for me as I couldn't load up my old save because the old DLC cars weren't showing up on new system... went to the add-ons, installed everything and I'm playing just like I did on my 360 without issues! got like blocked from xbox site from doing more transactions or something when I still had 10 of these left, so can't check if it worked yet. hopefully it's only like a timeout for doing too many transactions in a row quickly. but can't get the music tracks though, since these are 1 dollar each. hopefully it will load up when/if I get all the cars anyway, I did have all the music as well way back when I think. pretty weird this isn't all still registered to my account, since I had it on 360, and still use the same account.

Hmm, I guess 5 is the most complete game, amazing style. I wish it had an HD Remaster. But RR1 I probably ayed the most across the initial released.and the 60fps disk with RR4.

As I understand it, you'll need a US account. It's all a bit of pain, if you're in the UK, you're probably better off looking for a second hand copy.

Just bought on the American Xbox store, I'm in the UK for some reason it's not in there. Had to buy $11 dollars of USA Xbox credit to buy it

Yep, not available in the UK so I had to use my old XB360 disk.

@@TeamVVV The method I used is to set my Series X to USA in the settings, reboot system, and redeem XBOX credit bought online from GAMIVO, then purchase it on the USA store for $9.99, with VAT it was $10.87. I can only launch the game when I set my system as USA in the console settings. Great video, hopefully Namco will go back to this series one day, maybe do a online cross play .

Wow! I'm gutted for you that you lost your 100% game save. Are you sure it's not still on your 360 hard drive? I copied my 100% game save from Import Tuner Challenge aka Tokyo Highway Challenge 4 because I knew I couldn't go through that grind again. I find mastering the drift at high speeds on Ridge Racer 6 really tough. I never got close to completing it. I'm much better on the arcade version of Ridge Racer 2 maybe because I play it with a wheel and there is no nitrous to worry about.

Yeah, it's gone :( made me sad, so much gameplay, top level replays. I was at full esport skills at the time, practicing all hours. Still, all in the past now, but at least I grabbed that photo just before connecting online.

Hello I have save data on my 364 Ridge Racer 6 but do not know how to import it on my Xbox one X? I loaded the game on the Xbox One X and it wants to start new data, it does not see my old game on the cloud so how do I transfer to the cloud or my new system? Any help is appreciated :)

If you have a physical copy, it's backwards compatible in all territories. However, if you don't have a physical copy, it's only available as a digital purchase in certain territories. For where I live, it's physical only. So if you want play it, either get a disc copy or set up a US Xbox account and buy the game using maybe a pre-paid Xbox gift card (which can be bought online, e.g. Walmart).

I am extremely dissapointed that team vvv see fit to take off my help to everyone who wants to buy the USA edition on their UK account. I would really love for the OP to come back and tell me why this was done please? What have i done wrong? It is perfectly fine to buy USA goods for you UK account so what in the world is this world coming to when i cant post a perfectly legitimate way of getting the game on UK consoles? Explain please why you didnt print my method.
