My favorite Ridge Racer, it was ahead of its time for a portable game.

Absolutely! Think about the portable games we had at that time: there was NDS and GBA, and mobile phones. Obviously the PSP was the most powerful, and having a game with these sort of graphics running at 60fps was unlike anything else on a portable device.

I still think Ridge Racer is an Amazing PSP Game! I like the cars, the nitrous, the music, the atmosphere, the gameplay, the tracks and everything about this Ridge Racer is so wonderful as a Racing Game! :D

I remember firing up my PSP for the very first time and playing this. These were INSANE graphics for a handheld console at the time...totally blew me away. I loved my PSP and miss it a lot after watching this.

Unfortunately my PSP broke about 12 years ago and I never repaired it. Last year I got Ridge Racer 3D and although it is a great game, it lacks some things I loved about the PSP version. The soundtrack, the mini game beforehand, the menus and the overall atmosphere... I have to get another PSP I guess.

The game looks and plays great but there is absolutely no gameplay variety, all the events are just 3 lap circuit races where you have to fight your way from 12th to 1st But I guess that's fine since it was designed for short burst play sessions.
