It was not lying at the bottom of the river. That kind of rust is caused by a feces and urine, which means a plumber was using it. I always first wash with a soapy water any old tool I find or buy, before doing anything with it, especially if you will wire brush it.

As always a quality restoration. I have 2 of this style pipe wrench myself. When I worked for a commercial truck dealer we used these when removing and installing hydraulic hoses and fittings. Rigid also made one that the jaws are 90 degrees from the handle. I have one or two of those also. To polish bare metal after Evaporust I use steel wool and then clearcoat . Your tool refinishing is at a more professional level than mine but I still use the majority of my tools. Oh yes on pipe wrench handles I use a flap disc in my angle grinder to smooth out the hammer marks and ridges from the forging process. AL B.

I’d really like to see the results of soaking something in the magic juice without first being hit with the wire wheel. Maybe the directions on the container recommend cleaning up the item before using. I don’t know. Never used it before. But, like all directions on most things I look at them as some other guy’s opinion and do it the way I want to. After I do that I go back and read the directions and do it a bit closer to the “right” way. Great job on that Rigid tool!

Really came out nice! Do you find it difficult to remove and replace the Dremel sanding drums? I always struggle. Is there a trick? Have a great weekend.

Thanks Tony! Those drums can be tough! Sometimes it helps if I stretch out the drum on the outside of a needle nose pliers first.

Thanks Troy. I don't have information on why the paint stripper was discontinued.

Amazing, Magdad! So much better than factory. How many hours do you have in that project?

Thanks! I don't really keep track of time. I didn't have to spend as much time sanding and polishing since I blued and painted this project.
