Ahh, you totally both deserved that opportunity. Your videos are far more influential than those of standard journalists, because you properly understand electric motorcycles, you have a great dynamic as a couple, and your video production values are high and entertaining. The Alps are just awesome and my favourite place to ride. Getting back there earlier this month after COVID lockdowns was just pure therapy for me. I'm so pleased that you got to enjoy riding in those landscapes too. Looking forward to your Experia video and your thoughts on it. On paper, it suits my needs exactly, but I have to say, I'm totally in love with my Ribelle, having put over 3500 miles (5600 km) on it in under 2 months! Anyway, once again, great that you both got this opportunity. Very much deserved! 😊👍

Fantastic! I went and test-rode a Ribelle RS this past weekend (in no small part because of your videos) and loved it, so Energica probably owe you at least another trip to Italy. FWIW, I found the stock Marzocchi / Bitubo suspension to be too firm . . . perhaps US-delivered bikes have their suspension set to "adiposo hamburger americano" mode.
@NewZeroland2 жыл бұрын
Haha weird.. I got my Ribelle from the US and it has that pogo stick / wallow in the rear. Not enough rebound or something.. I have to get a suspension guru to sort it out. Anyway I'm glad my videos inspired you to test ride one! The bikes are great and the company is so cool.
@U-03C92 жыл бұрын
Yeah that would make a great video -- go to a shop to get both your suspension setups dialed in, compare the results, choir of angels singing, etc. And yes the company seems great. Tragically Zero is right in my back yard and I'd love to support them, but the bikes just aren't at the same level (either in terms of the performance or the *passione*). You'd think having the factory close to me for an electric bike would be a bigger plus, but tbh seeing your positive Energica support experiences in a country without even a dealer there kinda sealed the deal for me.

Hey, been following your channel for a couple weeks and let me say you are a great communicators, I really enjoy your videos. In any case I live in Miami and had been considering buying either a Ducati V4 or V2. I drove bikes for 18 years when younger, although haven't had one for last 10 years, yes Am a bit older 😀, anyway considering how hot Miami always is, driving a BBQ grill between my legs at my age had been a deterrent for me to purchase one and that's when I decided to look into electric. So after watching your videos I decided to go to my closest Energica dealer and for a quote for the bike that your driving on this video, an Ego + RS Trivolore but without the carbon wheels. I've seen on your previous videos that weight was your biggest issue , so my question is, would you say that this bike sort of resolved that issue, and how would you compare this one with the Ego you owned, how much better is it. Thx and again live your videos!!!
@NewZeroland2 жыл бұрын
Hey Michael! Thanks for watching. I'm glad you're liking the videos 😁 Man the new Energicas are something else. They're so much lighter and easier to ride than my old Ego, and the power is insane. Also there are fast chargers all over Florida, so road trips are a breeze now. Definitely take one for a test ride if you can. Cheers!

Do you feel the Ego has good wind protection? Is it good on long rides? Is the experia out soon? Does the windshield on your wife’s eva help against winds while touring?
@NewZeroland2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the Ego's windscreen / front fairing is great. Not as good as the Experia though. Jenn's Ribelle windscreen is nice and makes it way more comfortable to ride at highway speeds, and even helps the range a bit.

Video came at a perfect time lol. I was trying to figure out if the Ego or Ribelle were more comfortable to ride (I'm 6' foot). You mentioned the handlebars were a little taller on the Ribelle so that is good to know lol
@NewZeroland2 жыл бұрын
Nice! It depends on your riding style. High speed roads and trackdays: Ego. More comfortable but still sporty twisty road riding: Ribelle. I love my Ribelle and I won't be trading it in any time soon 😁
@Mr-E.2 жыл бұрын
@@NewZeroland I fall into the latter (comfortable but still sporty lol). While I'm messaging you, I did have a random question - Does the power on the Ribelle drop off if the battery is below 70% or 80%? I read that some bikes do that to help with range? I'm getting mixed info on it because one guy said he didn't notice a drop until about 5% battery remaining. Others said it was noticeable at 70-80%. Figured I might as well ask you too lol.
@NewZeroland2 жыл бұрын
@@Mr-E. Great question.. my old Ego dropped power at 90% 😂 The new ones are better but they definitely drop gradually. It's more noticeabe around 40% where the acceleration starts being limited and the top speed is less. Full power is pretty bonkers though, so I don't mind a little less power.
@Mr-E.2 жыл бұрын
@@NewZeroland I gotcha, 40% isn't bad at all, and seems reasonable at that point. You are right... I know I wouldn't be going full power balls to the wall very often. Thanks for clearing that question up and giving some context. It doesn't seem like an issue at all 👍

Can a girl with absolutely no experience ride that tre colori bike? I love the aesthetic.I’ve always wanted a motorcycle but never bothered to buy one because I’m too lazy to use a clutch. This seems like a feasible alternative. Is it? FYI: I’m 5’9” weigh 180lbs mostly muscle and can deadlift 70 pounds over my head if that makes any difference. What do you say?
@NewZeroland2 жыл бұрын
100% 😁 Normally I'd say no, because Energicas are serious performance bikes.. but you could throw it into Eco mode until you get the hang of it. That's the great part about electrics. You can adjust them as your skills improve! So yeah I support this 😂💪⚡🔋

I haven't owned or ridden a motorcycle before and with the appearance of EVs an electric motorcycle has caught my eye. Would this electric motorcycle be a good choice for entry level motorcyclists?
@NewZeroland Жыл бұрын
Absolutely not 😂 This is one of the fastest accelerating bikes in the world. Check out a Super Soco or a Zero S to learn on and after a few years you can move up to an Energica.
@AnkieJay Жыл бұрын
@@NewZeroland Haha noted. 😅 I figured I could have kept it on eco until I learned enough. What are your thoughts on the zero? I've seen videos of creators saying to stay away.
@NewZeroland Жыл бұрын
@@AnkieJay Energicas a pretty heavy so I feel like they're only for experienced riders, but you could try an SS9 and see how it feels. I loved my old Zero SR but I did have some pretty huge problems with it. If you live close to a Zero dealer it would be ok.
@AnkieJay Жыл бұрын
@@NewZeroland Yeah, I'm not very close to a zero shop. 😅 Will take the advice to look into the ss9. How does the weight feel on the energica? Does it seem clunky or well distributed?
@NewZeroland Жыл бұрын
@@AnkieJay it's really nice, and the weight goes away when you start riding it, but it's still heavier than most bikes. The taller handlebar on the SS9 makes it easier to ride. If you're under 5'5 (165cm) then Energicas are probably too tall and the weight can become hard to manage. Livewires are also great bikes with shorter seats and really easy to ride.

At least one district in Germany (Hochtaunus) has actually banned not only ICE but also E2W! The reason for the ICE ban was noise, why ban electric? Hopefully Italy will take a more sensible approach.

@@NewZerolandSound vs performance.....I think something was missing in the translation. Look (listen) at other performance EV: Silence.
@NewZeroland2 жыл бұрын
@@moestrei the sound comes from the reduction gears, which are there for performance and also to allow the motor to spin opposite the wheels (to fight the gyroscopic effect). They also use straight cut gears becayse those are the most efficient. It's all there for a reason.
